I don't see why not, correct me if I'm wrong, but FrankenHUD (and some others) have health numbers listed where they otherwise wouldn't be (ie holding crosshair over a teammate / building).
That works, probably because it's a smaller version of the normal health bar. However you can't really replace progress bars with numeric values.
Just a head's up; with the Halloween update out, the mod needs to be updated to support the spells-specific part of the hud, as they don't work properly with the mod as it is.

I fixed it for myself but forgot to post here. Here's a fix for that.
Bit busy with uni so can't really work on this hud at the moment.
Just downloaded the pre-released 2 one, and I must say it works pretty fine for me. Although there were a couple of bugs and I hope you can fix it in the next patch.
I'm currently using a 4:3 monitor and the loadout menu doesn't seem to fit my screen, stretching out to 16:9

The Pomson and the Huntsman meters also clip with the ammo box

I didn't optimize it for 4:3 yet. The huntsman charge meter is broken like that by default.
There is a 4:3 version of the loadout screen here
I'm a bit busy with university right now but I will make everything work with 4:3 soon enough.

Nice to hear about that, I'm looking forward to seeing more about this HUD :D
People still play with 4:3 monitors? :v:
Got rid of the gradient backgrounds in the minimal hud. Will probably have it be similar in the normal one as well.

if I had 100$, I'd be spending it on essentials and not on a bigger screen :v:
but 16:9 is essential
Alright, I'm pretty much done with my minimal hud
[thumb]http://horobox.reager.org/u/errur_1383954899.jpg[/thumb]
One last thing that is left is to decide what to do with the chat window. I'll probably move it to the top left, but i'm not sure.
[thumb]http://horobox.reager.org/u/errur_1383931633.jpg[/thumb]
After that I'll start optimizing the hud for other resolutions.
when huds move the chat it's annoying as hell, one of the following things are bound to happen:
conflicts with hud achievements
conflicts with voice command menu
conflicts with engineer building hud
at least, on the left side anyway

It's true but better move it than have it cover the health bar. Currently looking to find a compromise.

Or maybe they live in a country where things are extremely expensive. The cheapest monitors I can find here are about $200.
I like the design of the mod, but I've got problems with it, first I am running TF2 in windowed mode at 16:9 resolution, but here are the results of what I've got:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=193165043
In this one you can see the background of the main menu peeking out, this isn't too pretty and honestly I want to know what I can remove to safely view the classic loadout screen.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=192529818
I have no idea what has happened here, this might be because I joined a custom server, but the ammo count being cut off is a consistent problem across normal servers and maps. I'm trying to find out what files to remove to make it normal or if I should just remove the hud all together.
I know you're busy, but do you happen to know people who could possibly help you fix the hud while you're at your studies? I'm not a programer by any means by the way, I would just like to see this hud get the love it deserves.
Edit: Keeping that health HUD BTW, has that nice 8-bit retro theme, and did I see the boss skull icon from Legend of Zelda upon dying?

I'm currently working on the hud alone and I'm slowly getting things done. For some reason (which I might actually know) the hud seems to not work with anything other than 16:9.
Once I finish everything for 16:9 I will optimize it for both 16:10 and 4:3, as separate versions which should *probably* be out next week.

A SyncMaster from 2002.
Hey guys, just finished working on the 4:3 version of the hud for both the normal and minimal hud.
Also made a few changes to the minimal hud. Check out the updated screenshots in the OP.
You can get prerelease 3 here or in the OP. 16:10 is not yet supported but I'll work on that in the following days. Please report bugs as this is the final prerelease version.
Not much optionality yet but I will have a few optional changes for the release, meanwhile suggest some.
A few I can think of are:
-Default health bar
-Different hitmarkers as well as the option to disable them
-An option to disable the flashing mini display
-32 player scoreboard
Say, would it be possible by any chance to be able to add team-colored health bars as a side option as well?
Mind you, it may or may not work as well for the stock cross, but it could work for other health bar mods that can potentially come in 2 colors (Your NMH2 healthbar included).
Seeing as how you seem to have a health_color_blue.vtf texture file for blue team packed in and all, which brought it to my attention.

The reason the texture's packed is because I was trying to achieve that earlier, I couldn't however. It was left over. The health bar is a special thing, it's not a normal image panel so the per team options don't work on it.
I see no way of getting team colored health bars to work unless valve adds the possibility.
Is there a way to avoid having server names on the lower left of the hud interfere with the chat box? Having it there makes reading text a bit of a hassle, but otherwise, this HUD is working very well for me.

Probably, I'll look into that.
The new update adds a few new things to the MvM mode, plus regular scoreboard. The HUD is now partially broken.

There's one file you have to remove for the scoreboard to work. Mvmscoreboard.res from the ui folder. Everything else seems to be working. I know the shield charge bar for the medic goes over the uber bar, I'll fix that soon.
I update the .rar in the op, you can grab that version if you want but you really only need to get rid of one file.
Two things I found off
One pixel wide transparency
[T]http://i.imgur.com/UuQlqGC.png[/T]
Cutoff text
[T]http://i.imgur.com/e5vU03w.png[/T]
[editline]24th November[/editline]
There's also a square blinking from red to black color on the right side of screen appearing sometimes, I didn't manage to capture that but it happened on Rottenburg while playing Medic.
Plus why are the damage indicator numbers in an old-fashioned pixelated font? It's out of place for TF2.

Not sure what to do about the transparency on the left of the loadout screen.
About the cutoff text, what resolution are you using because it looks bigger than it's supposed to be, and the health value smaller.
The square that appears is the low ammo indicator. If you want to get rid of the indicators go to your hud/scripts/ folder and find hud_animations.txt, inside find "RunEvent MiniHealthDisplayShow 0.0" and
"RunEvent MiniAmmoDisplayShow 0.0" and remove them.
What resolution are you using
1920x1080
The health value looks smaller
I removed the custom heart health indicator image, probably also is the cause of the flashing overlay displacement?

The link doesn't work, I'm getting a "Nothing Here" notice from it.
Just tried it, had a glitch with the health indicator where the flashing overlay was displaced towards the center of the screen

Same resolution
Had the same bug without changing the health indicator.
