I may be wrong, but when crafting, the Pain Train always count as a Soldier weapon.

That's weird then. According to the wiki, it counts as both demoman and soldier in crafting.

Edit: You can craft Demoman weapon and a Pain Train, you'll get scrap. Craft a Soldier weapon with Pain Train, you also get scrap.
However, if you try to make a class token with the Pain Train, it will always grant you a Soldier Token.
