i'm looking foward to swiftwater.
Swiftwater goes against the whole easy to understand thing quite a bit. I doubt that would ever get in. [sp]Dont hate me Schwa <3[/sp] [editline]6th July 2013[/editline] Right Deordorant
It also has really bad custom textures
I just realised something. Where the heck is Crossaint, Valve?

If this update is fixing maps, then griefing is pretty much ruined... which is a good thing, and somewhat a bad thing.
I dont remember a map modification since Goldrush, this update is going to be cool.
I dont remember a map modification since Goldrush, this update is going to be cool.
pyromania update: the newly released SD map had nobuild zones added behind the spawn to prevent engineers from trapping players in there.

I thought the extra doors on cp_granary were pretty major gameplay changers
true
extra updates to dustbowl too
5 minutes deducted from final defense time please
Anyone know what more we can expect then patches and maps?
Anyone know what more we can expect then patches and maps?
Hats and misc items
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say we're getting weapons. What kind of weapons? That's up for Valve to decide, but the last three they gave us were pretty damn sweet, so I'm hopeful...

But that also makes me wonder what else they could be planning, since they've already covered maps.

Its not really worth spending the time coding that for the importer VS just manually processing the workshop weapon items, that they rarely add anyways, compared to cosmetic items which are far more simple and added in bigger quantities and more often, unlike weapons which still require playtesting for gameplay balance aside of just making sure the model works. I don't think its the work that takes to process a model file that would stop the TF team for adding weapons, its more likely that its hard to find new weapon mechanics that fit, are balanced and fun, that's probably much more work than picking a model and making sure the model works. Besides I would say everyone always expects something new for weapons, hates reskins, so I don't think adding weapons for the sake of adding is a good idea, where for cosmetics its alright to add a ton, for weapons if its not bringing something new to the table in terms of gameplay its a bit boring. However a set of weapons with at least one weapon that does something new and the rest being just a bit different stats than existing same slot/class weapons but great new looking models and visually innovative is still pretty cool though.
I want to see one of those alternate gameplay style weapons, like the huntsman/gunslinger/shield ETC in the upcoming update. That'd make my day. Hell, weapons in general would make my day.

But hopefully you're right and that's not the main reason why they're not adding weapons. Hell, I can't even say that yet because we're not sure if there'll be new weapons or not in the upcoming update. And I definitely agree that it's not worth adding in boring/redundant weapons, but I feel as if they've had enough time to formulate a few new unique weapon ideas by now. I honestly don't mind if we don't get a large quantity of them, so long as they're well done, versatile, and fun to use.
What like. a long range minigun that shoots singular bolts for heavy in rapid sucession with some overheat feature or somethin' Not sure if good idea or bad idea.
An assault rifle primary using the shotgun animations? No movement penalty, tighter cone of fire, but less ammo, less damage, and a clip?
I want a sniper rifle without a scope for Sniper. No headshots, but fires faster or something.
What like. a long range minigun that shoots singular bolts for heavy in rapid sucession with some overheat feature or somethin' Not sure if good idea or bad idea.
Idea: Make it a railgun. Call the ammo battery power and if you fire too long you have to either replace the rails or let them cool off. Replacing the rails could use an animation similar to the default minigun taunt so you have to choose between firing controlled bursts and letting it cool down slowly or going full retard for a minute and being temporarily vulnerable while you reload. For stats it could have better accuracy and damage, at the cost of a low rate of fire and reduced ammo.
I want a sniper rifle without a scope for Sniper. No headshots, but fires faster or something.
I had a similar idea, having a sniper rifle based off the Obrez rifle
You guys know there's a thread for this, right?
I really don't want that rifle to be ingame
I want a sniper rifle without a scope for Sniper. No headshots, but fires faster or something.
... Huntsman? :v:
... Huntsman? :v:
i think you mean smg
they purposedly broke the importer so weapons cant be used with it. people can still make weapons though, they have been doing them without the need of it for almost 5 years.
