Oh wow, that was cruel, but also incredibly amusing to read.
Oh, wow, you're such a fucking asshole....
Well played.
Still, that was quite of a dick move, I kinda feel sorry for him.
How did he react, did he realize you trolled him to hell or not? :v:
I'd have more chanches to get a heart attack than to get one of those.
Inb4 you go all HHHNNNGGGGGgggg!!! and get a heart attack.
I hope OP is right just so I can feel better about there being no way I'll get one.
Oh wow, that was cruel, but also incredibly amusing to read.
But it's hilarious.
Anyway, "hurd durf look at mah golden wrench" "Well look at my full inventory with new weapons!" "golden wrench is betta tho" "It's just a reskin that turns people into gold statues" "but it maek me cool" "Nope.avi"
You know what would be more fitting?
If he would actually get the fucking wrench.
Also the 3rd finder of the wrench.

Hmm?
Also the 3rd finder of the wrench.

probably because everyone is messaging him asking how he got it, and people in game are harassing him too for info on it.
much like how some famous people get too much attention and harassed by the paparazzi, fame is a curse. Having the 3rd golden wrench causes much attention.
He's probably getting spammed for getting a wrench
Also the 3rd finder of the wrench.

Unwanted fame, assload of friend requests and such maybe? If someone wants to keep low profile, I don't think he'd want a super-rare item that makes him show up to everyone on a public list on the TF2 main site with a link to his profile and shit.
wow I didn't know gold wore down and broke after using it to much. Learn something new erryday. But this makes sense. The blog did say they keep them for "a lifetime" which I find odd as that could mean it has something to do with the player dieing or the wrench itself, breaking.
Is the regular wrench colored gold, the fuck is the big deal?
Is the regular wrench colored gold, the fuck is the big deal?
Turns corpses to gold.
Is the regular wrench colored gold, the fuck is the big deal?
The fame.

But maybe thats why the GWs are being given out?? Think about it, that story with that dude that touched all that shit and it went all fully golden and shit, maybe thats some moral that Valve put in if you have these? A curse in its own sense?
People need to get a warranty on them wrenches
It works with any craft right? Im just making sure since I am frequently rebuilding class tokens
You sir have a great point. I was actually thinking about saying this thing about Gold not being durable enough for a weapon, guess I got ninja'd.
But anyway, how rare it is makes it even more likely to be a ploy. It's like the Medal, but if the whole community knew about it but not how to get it.
Only time will tell anyway
And here I wondered if everyone had just forgotten about "%s1 has destroyed Golden Wrench no. %s2!". Haha, great, let's (hope that your theory is right and) see how the community will react to THAT.

You saying that just because you don't have the wrench, now don't you :v:

It's not like I have a grudge against those with a GW, I'd just like to see the reactions of all those who crafted their last shirt and then see it was all for naught anyway.
By the way, what if someone discards his/her wrench? Would that possibly trigger the "%s1 has destroyed Golden Wrench no. %s2!" line?

That was what I was about to check, but my craft was one minute late before Wrench #47 was found.

I told him to keep trying, he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Also, I bet Valve used the phrase "It lasts for a LIFETIME" for a good reason. "Lifetime" can mean a lot of things.

Nah that'd be real cruel.
It took you that long to figure out there is no Australium and that Au stands for Aurum?
Doom14 I was thinking the exact same thing and wrote a similar message on another thread before reading this(http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=23158987&postcount=135 and http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=23159386&postcount=142)
As they say, great minds think alike.
Wow this is what I though this is like Valve trolling the community knowing we'll go crazy due to a rare item.
Interesting speculation to read.
That may be true
