Crit-a-cola should be buffed nor nerfed, if you take much damage using it you are using it wrong.
Don't like it don't use it is a silly argurment, weapons should be equally as effective but should be used for different strategies when a weapon cannot be used at all it's useless, it's not a matter of sucking it up when other classes have perfecetly working weapons that are decent.
Bonk! can be used is so many instances, the amount of times I can use Crit-A-Cola is much weaker in comparison, that's has nothing to do with sucking it up, something should be done about the disadvantages to make it useful. Bonk! is incredibly usefull for captures, intel, causing distraction, ambushing, getting passed sentry, escaping from a firefight and the list goes on, it has a endless use of brilliant strategies. The issue with the Crit-A-Cola doesn't come down to if you're using it correctly, the amount of chances in which to use it effectively pales in comparison to both of the other secondary weapons.
Using the razorback as a counter is pretty weak considering I don't exactly think that's a usefull weapon either not to mention it's bad for the team as a jarate is much more of a team based weapon (I guess unless a sniper is able to take down the spy after a backstab, but half pay no attention and half just get killed by my revolver anyway), sure some snipers can make use of it but really it comes down to how good the enemy spy is, if he is able to kill you with his revolver perfectly fine then it is useless.
Milkandcooki you're right it is essentially Crit-A-Cola = An eye for an eye.Which describe how stupid that concept is for a weapon, sure it needs a disadvantage but minicrit damage on you is just to big of a disadvantage.
Well it'd be a pretty fair disadvantage if it wasn't for the long recharge time. I get what you're saying, bonk doesn't let you attack when drinking it but in most of the situations where its useful you wont need to. The problem really is how they both have the downside of a long recharge but only cola has a particularly damning downside active when using it. The mini-crit effect doesn't deserve 2 strong downsides.
Though I'd rather they just lower the recharge time on cola, cause the downside of taking minicrits is interesting and separates the item from being just a mini-self-banner. Cutting off 10-15 seconds of recharge would be enough for me.

I honestly don't know what you're complaining about. Ever since I started reading this thread, I decided I would try and use CaC more often. I dunno about you, but I think it works great. The Scout is great at hit and run tactics, this just makes him more so.
I've ended up using it by getting behind enemy lines, popping CaC and going to town, usually with 2-3 kills. When I have about a quarter of a bar of CaC left, I back off and try to find a way out.
So really, playing Scout w/ CaC is a lot like playing a Spy. I don't think it's situational.
I've also found that with CaC, if my team is being pushed back some, popping CaC and flanking not only throws the focus of the enemy team towards me (because of the amount of damage I'm doing), it lets me kill a few of them while my team gets the chance to push forward some more. (Now it's true in this case I die more often than not because I'm drawing the ire of the entire enemy team)
But yeah, I think you've gotten too engrossed in this thread complaining about CaC. Instead of complaining, why not try and use it and get good with it? If you're lucky enough for Valve to eventually buff CaC, you'll have already used it a lot and learned how to use it effectively.
It'd be cool if you could throw the CAc, useful for Heavies or Soldiers on Arena where the other team has more men alive for example.

But I can be twice as effective with the pistol for twice as little practice. Bonk! is very simple to use and is a no brainer-
*Run past sentries
*Run into sentries whilst they're attacked
*Stop afterburn
Crit-a-Cola requires timing, unaware opponents, and results in little major reward- I can take down a soldier in just as many hits with CaC or without, and I don't have to dodge quite so desperately.
Just leave it as it is. The Scout has had way to many nerfs/buffs. It's just getting silly.
I don't really see many buffs they completely killed the sandman with nerfs.

I prefer the sandman. The extra health without it can throw me off sometimes.
I find Crit-a-Cola finely balanced. But that just might be my playstyle seeing as I'm very Anti-Scout and love getting behind Snipers to deal damage. But it helps me kill both of them and I rarely lose to another Scout anyway, this way I can win with taking less damage because I kill them faster, which also gives me less chance to get blindsided.
I completely agree OP, it's way underpowered compared to the pistol or 6 seconds of complete invulnerability.
A well placed sentry will kill most scouts using bonk.
THe knockback pins them to the walls, and its quite hilarious when they jump and get pinned to the roof for 6 seconds
I play Scout and I think it's fine. Nothing wrong about being situational, if the situation isn't right, don't use it!
