If nicola tesla would see all of this, he wouldn't be happy.
Why, he loves electricity right?
Why does he look like Hitler to me?..
Because you need glasses.
There's a spy in my boot!
Reach for the spy...
As for the Demo/Heavy, I'm not too sure about them, if the black guy in the back isn't the Heavy, then no one can be the heavy, however the demo is supposed to be black.
Note here: The demo is not supposed to be black.
He reminds me of Daniel Plainview.
Once we're done with that, replace all buildings with Tesla Coils, all of them.
Once we're done with that, replace all buildings with Tesla Coils, all of them.
Reminds me of Red Alert 2.
Oh, sweet nostalgia.
We need a whole 1800s lineup, they're great!
Sadly... he looked better in black and white.
Open textures in Photoshop with VTF plugin -> apply grayscale effect or desaturate -> save -> black and white engie?

Swizzle is credit to historic TF
Holy shit this guys good.
He's swaying away from the photo since he doesn't have gloves in that :P
I wonder how Soldier's stash would look on that :O
There are not enough gloves in tf2
If this came out, this would be a cool unlock for engie

It would be a small tower based on his Wardenclyffe Tower

Wardenclyffe Tower (1901–1917) also known as the Tesla Tower, was an early wireless telecommunications tower designed by Nikola Tesla and intended for commercial trans-Atlantic wireless telephony, broadcasting, and to demonstrate the transmission of power without interconnecting wires. tower designed by The core facility was never fully operational and was not completed due to economic problems.
It would power up all dispensers, sentries, and teleporters making them work faster and stronger. The downside would be it takes away the ability to build more buildings for the engineer and would have generally low health and a longer build time. Also very vulnerable to sappers which would sap at twice the rate only on this device
Hi, everybody. I'm the guy who made these models.
To answer some of the things people have brought up:
- I stated in the thread I made over at Polycount that these are only loose interpretations of the designs in Makani's group shot. I didn't want to restrict myself to making models that would look exactly like the stuff in the image, so I instead made stuff "inspired by" the characters in the group photo. I know it's bugging a lot of people that these models aren't exact replicas, but it's just a personal choice.
- These are not going to be skins; they're strictly for portfolio use. Not only do I lack the technical knowhow to make that work, but it'd also mean that the hitboxes would be completely screwed up. The engineer I made is as tall as the medic, so headshots would land somewhere around his sternum if he used the current engie's collision model. The only way they'd be in-game as actual characters is through some sort of standalone mod.
- I know that people have been wanting to see more Nikola Tesla in the engie, and I do plan on tweaking his facial structure a little, but I'm only going as far as a sly nod with the hair and 'stache. I don't want to do a portrait or caricature of Tesla, I want to make a character that stands on its own.
- The soldier's uniform is based on Confederate officers' uniforms from the Civil War. I know this isn't the same as in the group shot, but I found that uniform more interesting than a standard Confederate soldier's uniform. That also explains the gloves.
Finally, here's an image of the as-close-to-complete-as-it's-gonna-get-right-now soldier.

Goddamn
I'd rather see that head go on the 1960's Spy. Finally we would have a decent maskless Spy model.
Edit: And we'd be able to use it ingame :buddy:

The 1960's spy is the one we have already.

You are pumping these out arent you, how long did it take you to model each?
The 1960's spy is the one we have already.
Yes. That's the point.
I'd love to see the 1800 Engineer's head on the 1960 Spy, since french moustache etc.
A shame that these aren't going to be mods for the game.

Isn't the 1800's Spy wearing a raccoon mask?
can we at least get them in Gmod?
Will the confederate be playable?
I would download ALL of these, even though I usually download only improvement mods.
Hell, this is an improvement mod.

Thread's over everybody go home.
And damn, you are great at modeling, I am jealous. :smith:
Yeah, amazing skill at modeling, I wonder why people like you are not yet contacted by developpers.
You can try to submit your work at Valve, you never know...
