it's a really bad idea, the minigun c models never update, whereas heavy's model does (new bodygroups, animations, slight rigging changes over the years, etc)
The reason I'm even touching the Heavy's model is because Hero Light wanted me to add the muzzleflash model to the Heavy himself, and make it appear in front of the Miniguns in the firing anim.
Q1 playermodel was made in same way, there was a muzzleflash model "inside" it.But still,i would to have beta muzzleflash that is somehow simular to Q1 one
It was a theory to save time, instead of animating each individual minigun, just rig it to the heavy's animations, kinda messed up still.
Just edit each minigun, it is worth it, Saves you from the hell of making not compatible with custom heavy models, and the always changing heavy model.
Just edit each minigun, it is worth it, Saves you from the hell of making not compatible with custom heavy models, and the always changing heavy model.
we still would have to edit the firstperson heavy models to be compatible then, we're getting there though, also this is what we have so far on FPS animations [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/866107906051753817/C4B3BFA83CA9535D679D56617D602AE5050ED6A8/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/866107906076376114/F0E0F355A0C7A0225326D80ADA23C38F76025172/[/t] just need to align the model with the tomislav and it will be perfect
If you observe well the TF2 Trailer 2, there is no normal Muzzle Flash particle covert inside of the cartoony 3D Muzzle.
There is, for the sentry. http://youtu.be/h_c3iQImXZg?t=30s
If you observe well the TF2 Trailer 2, there is no normal Muzzle Flash particle covert inside of the cartoony 3D Muzzle.
I am sure they will edit the particle to remove that..
what ever you do do not delete the muzzle flash bone.
still working on it, hell the new update didn't break it atleast.
I wonder how Valve originally had it.
I wonder how Valve originally had it.
using scripts before they hard-wired it into the game...., I wish valve didn't fuck up so badly with some things.
thirdperson animations incoming...maybe...
using scripts before they hard-wired it into the game...., I wish valve didn't fuck up so badly with some things.
like what scrapping content? frankly I prefer particles by far
like what scrapping content? frankly I prefer particles by far
okay, that's your opinion, there's other people's opinions also, if ya don't like what we're doing, then don't comment.
no I'm just saying you seem to be implying the change was a "fuck up" when it was a conscious decision that most people prefer
no I'm just saying you seem to be implying the change was a "fuck up" when it was a conscious decision that most people prefer
I'm not saying that, I'm saying valve fucked when they made the muzzleflash for the minigun and sentry hard coded, like I wish they made it optional, so you could choose if you wanted the model or not.
no I'm just saying you seem to be implying the change was a "fuck up" when it was a conscious decision that most people prefer
I think he meant the "the fuck up" was the way they changed it making us unable to turn it back on with simple scripts on the minigun and sentry unlike any other weapon ingame and not the fact they change it to a particle.

It's basically done, except for a couple bugs: It doesn't stay solid in third person, it appears and disappears incredibly fast instead. If you fire while spooled up, sometimes, the muzzleflash stays there and spinning for about a second. This is kiiiinda Valve's fault, and there's nothing I can do about it. This happens with the firing animation itself in third person, and because the muzzleflash relies on the third person firing animation. Oh, and by the way, this was made by adding a muzzleflash model bodygroup added to all of the miniguns, and scripted to appear during the Heavy's fire_loop anim. Just wondering couldn't you by theory have the muzzle flash as a different model, but use $includemodel on the weapons. That way the invuln wouldn't affect the muzzle flash?
Oh, and this is still a thing [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/721994702517432041/216F9D1EF0FF8408FDF24B559CB841801A375B34/[/t]
I believe that its possible to make that the model doesn't show up with the invulnerable effect on it, so it can stay up with his normal texture wile übered.
I really hope this sees a release someday.
I really hope this sees a release someday.
sooonnnnnn.....
