I love this thread, but I miss Daimao's hat emporium, with all those daily hats and such, they kept flowing like a river. I haven't been keeping up that well, but where is Daimao, and will it ever be opened up again?
I would gladly share my skins, except for the fact that my hard drive died awhile back and I lost all of them. Plus, I can't afford photoshop, and my computer was recently upgraded to from Vista 32 to Vista 64. And Paint.net's VTF plugin only works on 32. Anyone know any other ways to make and edit VTFs?

I never said it was my best skin. In fact, it was my first skin ever. I can't name anyone who produces a perfect, groundbreaking skin or model the first time they ever make one. I have, with the help of ten different skinning tutorials, improved greatly. This is, unfortunately, the only skin I made that survived my hard drive failure. Try paying attention next time. Nobody has a perfect first skin that I can name. And I don't reckon that my skin is so horrible, considering that I made it in MS paint. I just found the Jarate textures in a jpg. format on the internet, messed around in paint, and got one of my friends to convert the textures into vtf.

True but that does not hold out the fact that if you've improved so much, you should be able to pull a decent skin out of your ass in under 5 minutes for a better example.

Read above. The whole 'Thanks to technical crap, I can't do any skinning right now.' thing. And even if I DID have a way to do skins, people here certainly aren't offering good incentive to make any. Why would I do anything for people who just criticize. Hell, I haven't even gotten any USEFUL tips for improvement.

Thats no excuse.
Get paint.net (which I guess you already have) then get vtfedit and use that to convert between tga/vtf, OR use vtex for conversion.

Be more creative, blood in a jar is not very original and can be slapped up in seconds.
Ideas?
You see those very nice looking signs around, you know, those ones which tell you where the fuck the intel room is and that.
Reskin them into a personalised style or make them a bit more artistic, and yes I know it's already been done but who gives a shit.

Not angry, more like disappointed.
He said that he's originally a decent skinner, provides an example which anyone with a bit of skinning knowledge can make in 3 minutes, (yes I know you said your hard drive died but let me get onto the next point).
He then goes and says he can't skin from there because a single plugin wont work, which gives me a huge feeling he never bothered to look at the alternatives for conversion which is just a simple google away.
Overall it leads me to think that he couldn't be arsed to provided a better example of what he can do.
I maybe hugely wrong but this is what it is making me see at the moment.

Alright. That's better. I just tend to get annoyed at constant criticism and being told I suck. Maybe it stems from having an older brother who always has a negative attitude towards everything I do. And I recently found out that my younger brother (I have two brothers.) has finally done something useful. Back before my hard drive failed, he backed up a couple of my skins on his computer. Some of my ones that don't suck. Because I admit the Jarate was lazy. But my internet firewalls have been spazzing lately, so I couldn't get anything else. It took me three hours to convince the firewall to let me visit facepunch. And another half-hour to post.
