Modding question, is it possible to change the ammo counter itself?
Modding question, is it possible to change the ammo counter itself?
I don't think so. I'm not an expert on that subject, so I may be wrong....
Whatever happened to that god damn Campaign Hat? Someone should go ahead and pick it up since it's obvious that Daimao is never coming back. Speaking of dropped projects, a sombrero for the engineer should be done, except with a cheesy Pancho Villa moustache.

Can someone answer this properly?
Can someone answer this properly?
On this thread, you should consider yourself lucky that you got a polite answer.
On this thread, you should consider yourself lucky that you got a polite answer.
I don't give a shit about your "polite" answer, I want a straight answer, not some pansy footed maybeish crap that you gave me.
Ask it in a clearer way, what do you want to change exactly?
I don't give a shit about your "polite" answer, I want a straight answer, not some pansy footed maybeish crap that you gave me.
I said I wasn't the expert on it. I've tried changing it, and my attempt failed. I've tried martial arts. I'm not the expert on that, either, but I don't suck at it.
Here's your straight answer: In my experience, I don't think it is possible. I don't know about anyone else, but as I'm not psychic, I can't be expected to.
By the way, Adolf Hitler would often demand 'straight answers' from his troops and would punish them if he didn't get one.
then don't bother answering
Ask it in a clearer way, what do you want to change exactly?
Hmm, well, I just had a sudden strike of inspiration for a mod that I wanted to create involving the ammo counter. Well, two of them. The first one would be like, the ammo would be graphically represented instead of numerically (or both graphically and numerically to further clarify things). And the ammo would deplete and replenish accordingly as you shoot / reload. Sort of like the shotgun rounds in this,

But in a TF2 light.
And I do have another plan concerning that for weapons that use less conventional ammo types, like flamethrowers and the like, but I want to know if the basic idea of this can be accomplished.
The second would be like a sort of custom crosshair (?) / ammo counter mix. Pretty much the bars that are on your crosshair in HL2, where you can see how much ammo you have right on your crosshair. Would that be possible to make as a mod in TF2?

I don't want a lecture nor an autobiography.
You may be able to do it, but it would take a lot of time seeing as how you would basically have to redo all of those files involved and remake them.
In my opinion it's not worth the time, or the effort. It would be like adding a minimap to the game. I mean sure it would be helpful, but whats the point?

Okay, it's time consuming, but would you say that it would be an exceptionally difficult job?
I like minimaps
The point would be the former part of that query.
I just think I would like it as a mod.
And I like minimaps.
Not possible.

Although that would be really really cool.
It needs a Higher-poly model.
The low poly count gives it special TF2 flare.

I believe the flare gun is fairly high poly :P
Yeah but that smg skin looks really TF2ish as it is.
