Sure they're okay from having to pay his bills, but they still participated in the raid and therefor I feel their permaban is justified.
No one really ever get's done for ddos, true ddos uses botnets etcetc so the ip's causing it aren't directly to blame & tracking down botnet owners can be basically impossible. His fbi thing about logs just sounds like bullshit.

Well, my view on this is that Starting an DoS attack was a total failure on the side of these FP Users, but I got a little bit dissapointed that he seriously thought about getting money from FP and the part he always pointed out "my 5 children". Also, they arent Facepunch Studios Members, since the forum is just called Facepunch.

I have studied modules in High Tech Crime and International Crime Investigation at university and I can safely say that no organisation exists that would be willing to take this case on. Whenever someone says they're reporting you to the FBI, nothing will happen - even if they actually do report you.

There was no Denial of Service attack. The amount of traffic his website was experiencing was what knocked it offline - his community contains less than 50 people. About 400 - 500 people were browsing his website because it was the most popular thread on FP at the time.
By the way, a DDoS is a distributed denial of service attack which means it comes from multiple computers, for example a bot net. A DoS is just from a single place.
Wouldn't this be simpler if he had kept the offending thread to show to you hezzy?

I don't think "spamming cocks" should be the only reason to get permabanned.
Sure the guy who spammed cocks were more explicit than the others, but I don't think his contribution to the raid was that much worse than theirs.

Or Facepunch could have taken a more mature approach to this and simply got over that they didn't have access to one or two servers instead of raging like a bunch of butthurt children about how the block was unfair and the server owner needed to be punished for opposing the almighty Facepunch.
