It compresses it into a zip with metadata designed to make it work as a cosmetic, with coding that makes no sense out of a cosmetic context
Basically it loads your submission with a bunch of junk data and has been known to alter submissions implying it does more than just metadata and actually seems to affect the files themselves somehow
But most importantly it's kind of false advertising because it certainly doesn't improve your chances since they can't use their importer testing tool with it but it gives the average workshop browser the impression that it's somehow more complete or better

Huh had no idea about the metadata stuff. I always just assumed the only coding was the schema stuff in the manifest.txt file.
Not sure about the importer affecting the files themselves, as far as I can tell there's at least no visual differences between the manually and importer compiled versions.
Oh well better re-upload a manual version I guess.

A sudden crisis in my family may hinder development of the site for the next day or two. I'll try to keep on top of it. Depending on how things go, I'll either get right back on track after that, or resort to a slump of depression and see where that takes me.

Think you should brighten the main bodies of the dolls to give them more contrast and visual interest within themselves, stand out from pyro better, and more closely match the original grenades
This is just base colors right now. I wanted to make the liquid part opaque with selfillum but it just looked like shit. So I gave it a double layer and gave it additive with selfillum. It is supposed to be a tf2ized glow stick. Will be all class when im done.

How does one make a floating pet? I understand how to make the model, but how do I tell the game it's floating and it's a pet? What bones do I need? Do I need to the model or is it pre-animated by TF2 magical floating pets engine? Please help.
I'm curious, all the fist replacements for the Heavy are glove type items with no fingers. Can the game support fist replacements with skinned digits or does it have to be a closed hand pose?

Iunno about what everyone else thinks, but I personally say put the update on hold if you're facing a lot of real world problems, man. I think we can all relate. Sometimes life just needs more attention than virtual hats.
I just personally think it isn't worth the additional stress, is all. You need to take care of yourself and your family before people on the internet, man. Worry about yourself more, and us less.

I haven't been able to focus on working on anything for the site in the past few hours. Been shit at sleeping and I also feel like shit, you can tell because I'm awake at 8 in the morning. So far though, things are looking good. And I will say, virtual hats may have come to the rescue here, because fuck medical bills.
