You could always add a little damage on it, or remove that bookmark and have a larger more detailed fabric one.

Most, if not all, of the damage will be in the texture. What kind of fabric one are you talking about?

Metal corners, dips where the covers would fold from opening the book, hanging ribbon bookmark, buckled leather strap to keep it closed, the spine being curved which in turn has the pages stacked curvedly, a few uneven pages sticking out, index tabs sticking out of the pages theyre attached to, jigglebones to make it flop open a bit during movement, paper trail like intel but much more discreet, hollowed pages to fit a gun, comedic hard-to-see summary on the back, details arranged so that it looks somewhat like a living creature...
Any of those help?

I also filled my cauldron up a bit better without the flat texture:

The colours also don't seem very much like those of the TF2 palette, and it seems rather odd them being blue for both teams. Are they also paintable?
And if you don't know how to make glass; now is probably a good time to learn.

I had an idea like this last year, but due to my lack of knowledge about... well everything, I was unable to do it. I think this year I'll finally give it a go.

Make those horns absolutely flat on the ends, maybe one or two wedges on the edges so it doesn't look too uniform. As far as I know, Hellboy's horns were/are filed/cut off.

You could probably use a slight envmap effect on it, and I highly suggest that you make the bubbles inside of it jiggleboned, along with the drooling parts of the slime.
And hey, for the BLU skin, you could use aqua instead of green.
