Okay, this is actually embarrassing. This will be my first post on Facepunch as I've made a new account. I started frequenting this site about 4 months ago, mostly going into the Emporiums which I very much enjoy. I've come to this thread, empty-handed, with no WIP models or even concept art but with an idea. An idea that I thought would be interesting enough to spark someone's interest. I'm not entirely sure if it's been done before or not. But here goes nothing anyways, in Meet the Sniper, when the Sniper was making some work of the BLU team he shot the Demoman's bottle into his face. What if, and this is just an idea if someone would be kind enough to take me up and were to model the shards of the scrumpy bottle into where his eyepatch usually is. It would basically replace his default eyepatch with a broken bottle and scar tissue. Maybe call it "Old Wounds"? EDIT: I rewatched Meet the Sniper and the bottle goes into his UNDAMAGED eye, I feel like that would be a better idea than what I thought of. Either one would work. IDK, just something that came to mind that I hadn't noticed (yet) Nice and mildly morbid.
Wall of enjoyable text with a fantastic idea
Dude, Someone shove demoman's bottle into his empty eyesocket right now.
I wish I knew how to model... I've got several fistfuls of ideas and no way to showcase them other than textual description or a shit MS Paint drawing.
Would have to remodel a new bottle, the Demo's bottle is WAY too high poly for this. It's also huge.
Just scale it down.
Just scale it down.
Just scaling it down wouldn't work as there are too many polys.
there are too many polys.
It's not like you're submitting it to the workshop or anything. Besides that's what LODs are for. :v:
repost of my two other Halloween concepts
[editline]19th August 2013[/editline] How's about, instead of Archimedes, the Medic introduces the world to Archie's spooky cousin, Edgar the Raven?
Friend really wanted this concept posted, so here it is. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/YtGqqb8.jpg[/thumb] so long sleeve Baggy arms could gradient from scouts shirt shoulder down, Ice/fireball with book replacement for sandman (though it'd look alittle funny smacking a fireball with a book) very spidery and ragged Witches hat. hip book ect. Edit: well this pageking sucked.
well this pageking sucked.
Screw you, that pageking is awesome. I for one would definitely use that Sandman replacement.
Screw you, that pageking is awesome. I for one would definitely use that Sandman replacement.
actually once i think about it, it could make a pretty cool flying guillotine replacement, providing figuring out how to place a spell in his hand.
Another spooky scary set, this time for the pyro [t]http://i.imgur.com/148onB3.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/eWV35HP.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/lsUu8Gx.png[/t] inspired by old sci-fi monsters, cthulhu and the like. the eyes are just there to sort of even the tone out while i was drawing, but in my head i never thought of it to be a part of the set for various reasons. wouldn't want them getting in the way of things like the sight for sore eyes or the deus specs i also never know if things like arm or feet miscs are ever doable on certain characters, so i apologize if things like these wouldn't work out! just lemme know, i'll try to think up of some other things to go with this when i wake up tomorrow. same goes for my color choices too, didn't know what color scheme to use honestly :v:
actually once i think about it, it could make a pretty cool flying guillotine replacement, providing figuring out how to place a spell in his hand.
It could be pretty simple actually, like just a transparent sphere with a particle effect attached.
So, I was able to get it this far. But it's very broken at the moment. I have to go back to before I moved and scaled it, which means I have some UVing to do again. I messed it up the mesh with a hastily applied optimizer modifier, because even with all my optimizations it was too high poly, even with baking a normal for the skull. So I will probably doing a normal bake on the other bones.

But yeah, might wanna add some edges and bevels and whatnot around the scoop, looks kinda like the ice cream grew around it.

I would like to see a tombstone for the pyro back (not like the Coffin kit , a stone tombstone) Also A necklace with a rabbit's foot , a garlic +a four-leaf clover (on the mouth) (That misc coud be for the demo ) [T]http://fr.eonline.com/eol_images/Entire_Site/20121112/reg_1024.radagast.mh.121212.jpg[/T] (Also a Radagast set :3) A stick , a hat + hair + a kind of all father (like the one in the picture) for the demo (since I find a Magician- Druid set fitty for the demo) Thanks for the [T] tips !
merasmus parvus est pretty low poly, but that's ok since it's really small (maybe a bit bigger than the pocket medic)
What is the Facepunch command to reduce the size of a pic ?
Put a T in square brackets. My latest WIP. Just base colors, and jigglebones haven't been set up yet. Also ignore the bottle, I decided to try the item importer out because it's under 1400 tris. [t]http://oi39.tinypic.com/eijvjs.jpg[/t] Also, fun fact: Most players have a weapon_bone in both hands which makes this item relatively easy to rig. Except sniper, who not only doesn't have a weapon_bone_L, but his regular weapon_bone is rotated 90 degrees. Quite frustrating.
