If it's going to be remade into that version, won't they be different enough for him to continue with his?
Eh! I didn't know, ah well I might as well finish it.
People on the workshop seemed to like this so I'm resubmitting it for Halloween with some small changes. Hopefully I'll get less comments this time telling me it's from Mario. Click here for workshop link.

I'd upvote this but I can't seem to get to the workshop or any community page for that matter.

Sorry for posting something Mario-related on the Gamebanana submission. At least I know that this isn't referencing that.

That's no problem, I'm referring more to the people that blindly state 'it's from mario' and have an argument over it.

Guys, I need some help.
I dunno if I'm gonna release this as Halloween or not (I don't really want to, because honestly, I fucking hate this whole restrictions BS, but I can't see this getting in any other way.) But I'm making a Scout Faun pack.
Got horns and ears modelled and unwrapped, but I want to include some hair... And frankly, I have no idea what I'm doing. I cannot organically model to save my life.
I tried the old "expand on the faces that already exist" thing, but that only really seems to work for clothing. That, or I just suck, because my results have been less than desirable:

So uh... I'm stumped.
How does one model hair? Specifically, hair in the Style of TF2? I've seen sme fantastic hair models that fit with the art style really well, but for the life of me I don't even know how to start on it.
Any tips, tricks, tutorials or hints anybody can drop me? I want something that looks somewhat like The Radical Rider:

I'm pretty close to just adding DeRosaJ and being all like "TELL ME YOUR SECRETS!" but I figured I'd bother everybody here about it, first.
Thanks!
P.S: Flubbman, if you're reading this, I haven't forgotten your jacket. Since I'm back in the swing of things I'll be doing it tonight! Promise!
the radical rider isnt exactly the best tf2 stled hair
the radical rider isnt exactly the best tf2 stled hair
I think it's pretty good model wise but the texture does suffer from cloudiness

Yea, no offense to psyke (The person who actually textured that, not DeRosa ), but that's definetely not the best tf2 stylized hair, and suffers from a lack of detail and cloudiness, which isn't neccassarily bad, so to speak on a small amount of hair like that, but on such a large piece of hair such as the one there, you're much better off going for, well, the normal stylization of hair in the game. Which has a bit more detail. Use actual ingame reference, not things on the workshop. The things ingame are ingame for a reason, most of the time.
The problem is there are a billion different stylizations of hair in game
it's more inconsistent than blood
you got your default completely flat hair, your plain hard edged highlights Big Country and Greased Lightning, your brush-heavy All-Father, Wilson's Weave, and Brutal Bouffant, your disgusting newspaper beard mutton chops and Brainiac Hairpiece etc etc

Alright, let's say I want to make a big fluffy Brutal-Bouffant style mess of locks.
How would one go about that? Any tutorials I should be looking at? I imported the Bouffant into Max and had a look at the model itself, but that didn't help me much unless I plan to outright copy it (which I don't.)
