heres a texture i made again. the bag is still base colors cause i still cant find out how to get it to look like the buff banners texture.
does anyone have any advice on how to do that, like what brushes to use?
the first brush of row 2 in dutchman's brush pack has always served me well, even better after i got a tablet http://createvi.deviantart.com/art/Dutchman-s-TF2-Brushes-389657011

well heres what i got after messing around a bit. not sure if i used it right.
any critique for it?
Already looking pretty decent, maybe tone down the edge wear on the belt a bit and try to have the brushstrokes blend a little more on the belt as well
It's great to see that you're open to criticism because you're definitely improving, keep it up :)

thanks.

is this better?
are the brush strokes and edge wear on the strap on the same layer? bring the strap's edge wear to a new layer and subdue it further, because the brush strokes are subtle enough.
subdue brush strokes of test tube straps to the same level as the current main strap brush strokes.
main body brush strokes could be a just a tad more prominent.
i still think the corks are a little bit too tapered, but you might want that if you want the taperedness to be visible from afar, i have no idea.
above are all just opinion, feel free to go your own way if you have a better plan.

[sp]Well hopefully soon, since I want this bitch in NOTLU2013[/sp]
is this better?
Put the brush strokes back to how they were, and tone town the edge wear, specifically the edges along the belt. Right now that's way too high contrast.
Models and textures for the Heads'a'gon set are now complete, including LODs and normal maps!

Now I just need to wait for them to be rigged up, do the final size refinements (if needed) and I'm good to go.

heres a new version, not sure if its better or not.

also added edge wear on the edges of the bag itself, not sure if its a good idea or not.
any other critique?
We just figured out in the Emporium thread that a fully white alpha layer won't trigger the self-illum. Try just putting a single black dot on the alpha and try it again.
Much obliged! That fixed it up perfectly.

Remove the AO from the corks

This maybe just me, but that coat's material doesn't fit the TF2 cartoony style

What should I fix with the texture or should I add anything?
I won't change any models because based deadline today.
The gum cane is there to stay.
That's a really weird lollipop pattern and the edges don't match
That's a really weird lollipop pattern and the edges don't match
Well, I don't know if I'll be able to fix it. I'm bad at UV mapping and practically all of the objects got cut into pieces ( http://puu.sh/4Mu4z.png ). Maybe I'll change something but I can't promised it'll get better.

...not.

Though if you or any users find it offensive, I can change the face. Just saying I didn't mean to copy or steal from the Baloon creator.
Anyone got an idea how to make it look more like a monster and less like a snail? I'd love to make it look all hairy but the polygon limit prevents me from doing so. Also I'm gonna need a name for it.

The candy cane ( I think that's what it is) looks a bit funky because of the sharp egdes you have on it. Try removing them to give it a smoother look.

The wrappers don't need that much detail for such a small item, just give them plain colors. Also, your smoothing groups need fixing.

Was there some reason the loli pop can't look like the lolichop and the candy cane have a candy cane texture?
The wrappers don't need that much detail for such a small item, just give them plain colors. Also, your smoothing groups need fixing.
For some reason they are not becoming smoother.
I set the edge split to 40 degrees. For some reason, setting the degree higher doesn't really smooth most of the items. Any tips on that?
And about wrapper: it really looked weaker without the pattern. I think it wouldn't hurt.
Was there some reason the loli pop can't look like the lolichop and the candy cane have a candy cane texture?
Stealing the lolichop texture isn't fair. Though I understand I have to improve it. I'll work oni t.
Candy cane became gum cane due to my extremely high UV-mapping skills. The cane layout is curved, so I can't make the stripes look good. And straightening the cane layout would cause other objects be small, which would lower their quality.
I honestly do not know what to do with the gum cane.
Was there some reason the loli pop can't look like the lolichop and the candy cane have a candy cane texture?
Because the candy cane weapon's texture is horrendous
