Great seems somewhat aggrandising considering this year was quite anemic in terms of new and interesting content. What we had got was good, but lots of cosmetics can only carry a game for so long and some interesting new ground was broken but still not quite enough to warrent the word "great", especially when community members are making cosmetics en masse, effectively relieving Valve of that duty.
Good, certainly. The new balences on some weapons is a nice bit of fanservice, with the Short Circuit looking very nice and viable now, and the new MVM maps and tools play well.
But that just leaves me wanting more, and I was hoping that this update would be a nice push akin to the Mecha Update for that desired content. I'm not sure how much of that will be taken as unreasonable selfishness really, developing games is hard work and with Valve's ethos of extensive playtesting for the golden means resulting in said content coming in very infrequently nowadays, then perhaps my previous analyisis of what I said could very well be true. I would like to think it's misplaced optimism.

Wow, that free Stocking Stuffer thing is really generous; opened it up and got three weapons or so, a Nametag, Description tag, Mann Up ticket, and a Backpack Expander
and I just woke up to this so it does, quite literally, feel like christmas morning, kinda

Giftapult apparently takes an item and throws it to a random user playing the game (not same server)

this is typically done to string theories together or a line of thought, to piece evidence together. not sure if its done anymore since computers became a thing and white boards before that.
