It cant crit thats why.
All weapons needs to have Kritz dmg stat. MvM kritz canteen allows you to kritz unkritzable weapons.
That downside makes NO sense on the Cow Mangler. 5 rockets and infinite reserve, but weaker and only able to stun sentries at the cost of a clip would be balanced; right now it is kinda reskin-esque.
Have the smissmas update items been added to the store, now that it's all over?
- Fixed not being able to gift wrap the Festive Sapper is noone going to mention this gem?

The downside of the weapon is really it's not good against Buildings. Imagine yourself on Arena, your the only one and the last guy is a Engineer with a Level 3 Sentry. Your pretty much screwed unless that Engi doesn't have a dispenser or gets away from his nest. You can disable it, but if you don't have a Shotgun, it ain;t gonna help much.
i like using the cow mangler in mvm even though it gets me kicked immediately. it gets mini-crits and i dont have to fight everyone for ammo when the dispenser gets blown up. i think its ok.
RIP in peace, good Short Circuit. It was fun while it lasted
RIP in peace, good Short Circuit. It was fun while it lasted
rest in pieces, burn in hell.

You just can't do squat against Engies.
Funny they call it a strongbox, but have a lock with chains on it in the image. A Strongbox has the locking mechanism on the box itself, so the the extra lock with chains would be redundant. Extra security I guess.
It's all planned out. You'll need two keys for unlocking it. (Hopefuly jk)

If you lack a Demo, Mangler is probably a bad idea.

Only way to nerf the Short Circuit is to lower the fire rate. Make it like Pyros airblast or something. It'd be still great for defending your shit [editline]10th January 2014[/editline] Also lower the radius of that thing, I once tried to kill an Engineer from above and he canceled my projectiles without even knowng it
As fun as it was using the Short Circuit, it was horribly and laughably unbalanced (no matter how much I despise Soldiers and Demoman) so I'm glad it got a nerf.
As fun as it was using the Short Circuit, it was horribly and laughably unbalanced (no matter how much I despise Soldiers and Demoman) so I'm glad it got a nerf.
Most braindead pub players can play Solider or demoman well. I enjoyed making them cry for a while, and its overall still possible.
you talk as though engineer is hard to play.
you talk as though engineer is hard to play.
For braindead pub players actually yes. Its pretty sad.
Wonder when valve is going to add the christmas cosmetics to the store
you talk as though engineer is hard to play.
As an Engineer you have to: - Find a good spot to place your buildings - Maintain your buildings - Constantly move your buildings to where the fight is or where the fight will be - Make sure your dispenser is healing, your sentry is shooting and defending, and your teleporter is available for use You problems are: - Spies (Dead Ringer spies are the worse) - Demomen and soldiers - Ubercharge medics - Mediocre teammates - Coordinated enemy teams A good Engineer has: - A good aim - A good sense of where to place your buildings - An eye for spies - A coordinated team As you can see, Engineers take some skill to use. And require a coordinated team to be effective, hence the reason why so many pub players fail to use the class entirely.
Which is exactly why Soldier and Demo are the go to Pub class. Sticky spam weilds insane results in pubs, and rocket launchers take no aim at all. Shoot at the floor2win
Which is exactly why Soldier and Demo are the go to Pub class. Sticky spam weilds insane results in pubs, and rocket launchers take no aim at all. Shoot at the floor2win
Build Sentry2win, W+M12win, fire Minigun2win, shoot Scattergun2win, heal2win, etc If you hate Soldier so much you've never played (which assuming by what you just said you must have to not have) then you obviously don't understand the difficulty of making the most of the rocket launchers

Instantly got a decent score, he doesn't take a lot of skill and rocket jumps are piss easy. I am not saying he is a bad class because of this, the point is that he's popular in pubs.
The Soldier is pretty much a class that's easy to pick up but hard to master.
oh wow i can't equip my shield in medieval mode
Which is exactly why Soldier and Demo are the go to Pub class. Sticky spam weilds insane results in pubs, and rocket launchers take no aim at all. Shoot at the floor2win
It's because vanilla Demoman is braindead retarded. It's also because when you get good at Demoman, you become the most overpowered thing on planet earth if you know what your doing, especially if you know how to juggle with pipebombs and/or stickies.
Soldiers don't really help themselves any by being walking stereotypes. I'm playing a game where one Soldier is constantly switching sides to the winning team. Then again, it always seems to be Spies or Soldiers imo.
Soldier was always inherently designed to be a "jack-of-all-trades", being balanced out to do good but not great, with a pick up and play attitude, but have a lot of traits above that for more experienced people.
Build Sentry2win, W+M12win, fire Minigun2win, shoot Scattergun2win, heal2win, etc If you hate Soldier so much you've never played (which assuming by what you just said you must have to not have) then you obviously don't understand the difficulty of making the most of the rocket launchers
I'm talking about braindead pubs though. They cant do any of that stuff, they'll certainly never play medic, because that would be useful. If they're not being 10 snipers, they're sticky spamming or being soldier.
It's because vanilla Demoman is braindead retarded. It's also because when you get good at Demoman, you become the most overpowered thing on planet earth if you know what your doing, especially if you know how to juggle with pipebombs and/or stickies.
I'll never understand why they gave the strongest primary, the strongest secondary, and the best melee to a single class. Demoman has a ridiculously high potential if you're good.
Demo has no hitscan and will hurt himself if he uses anything but melee at close range. It is also the sole class where the side melee weapon is balanced around the stock, meaning it has to run with the boring 65 damage ones, or suffer quite heavy penalties, like reduced health, even more reduced speed, unability to refil ammo, taking 100 damage on hit, or being stuck with the melee out at substandard speed. Also, try to run booties and stickies, or grenade launcher demoknight. You'll soon see that neither weapon is insanely overpowered on its own. And using both primary and secondary weapons to cover each other's weaknesses IS how you are supposed to play. Still yeah, Demoman and Soldier are the best combat classes in the game. With a really high skill ceiling, vulnerable to good Scouts, and with an important Medic dependance if they want to have movility. And I'd say there's no need to be such a condescending asshole.
