I'd probably say choose an easy class like heavy to start off with, then when you learn the basics of the game and how not to aim like a retard then move onto scout
Not spy at least..
Also, OP, in TF2 you need accuracy. With precise accuracy, you will become deadly as fuck! And it's all the more entertaining when you go on a 11 kill streaks and shit!
Today I made some white ghastly gibus fancy shortstopping scout ragequit. He changed his weapons and finally when I dominated him, my scout yelled "rage quit, make us both happy" and then I saw him disconnecting from server. Entertainment value = Sky-fucking-high
Edit Enough of bragging. You might wanna try Heavy, and later on Scout, but tbh play the class you find the most badass! As for myself, Scout and Heavy are my two definite favorites, mostly because they are exactly the opposite of each other.

That is bullshit!
Heavy, Most health and hitscan weapons are easier than projectiles.
Well, for easyness, I'd say Heavy or Pyro (even though Pyro requires some skill if you don't want to look like a noob), Demoman is easy to learn too if you use only Stickybombs (cheap playstyle IMO), but overall I'd say Soldier is the best class to start with. Even though I'd recommend playing all classes and getting some skill with allof them to have a variety.
Most of the classes are fairly easy to start off with, but the class I suggest you stay away from when you're first starting off is the Spy. A bad Spy can contribute almost nothing to the team, while a bad Pyro on the other hand has a higher chance of actually doing something.
Spy, in general, is for the more advanced players. He requires good knowledge of the map, something that new players don't have because, well, they're new and you can't learn an entire map from playing it once. I suggest playing Engineer, Pyro, Medic, or Soldier before switching over to Spy.
At least, that's what most people do.
I started TF2 playing Spy, wasn't any worse off for it, now that the Dead Ringer and Cloak and Dagger exist it's pretty much as easy as every other class to do marginally okay without dying.
Sniper
Engie, let the sentry do the job

no.
And holy shit this sounds like a thread from the WoW forums :byodood:
Engie, let the sentry do the job
You got to learn the maps before playing Engineer, because otherwise you might place the Sentry at a wrong spot where it's easy to get destroyed.
One with decent health.
It's hard to say really. Each of the classes have a different play style. Try all classes and see which one suits your play style.
I say Medic. Mostly because you can get a feel for the game, controls, learn your way around maps, all while still being incredibly helpful, even though you might not be the best at shooting yet, you can learn from other people by watching them.
Welcome to TF2, also.
Demoman with Lock n Load, Scottish Resistance, and Skullcutter
Soldier was designed to be easy to learn difficult to master, so go with him.
Soldier by far will get you into the game faster. He is the most versatile class seeing as he has a bit of all the other classes in him.
Civilian
Demoman with Lock n Load, Scottish Resistance, and Skullcutter
He's new bro. Doubtful he'll have those.
Anyways, the best class is actually more depended on him. If he has a high tolerance of death in order to learn, then scout would be good for him.

I hardly ever die as a scout once I've some-what "mastered" the class.
But yeah, scout and spy might be the classes you die with the most if you are a beginner.

The bottom-line is, no matter what class, once you become good at it, it's endless fun!
Play an entire round with each class, then start playing with the class you felt more comfortable playing with

Choose one, any one.

You will get an achievement this way too!

That's (part of) the joke.

Huntsman Sniper
But probably Heavy or Medic.
No the Medic would be good. He does not need to do much fighting and can let his Heavy do it all.

Medic takes skill. The skill to avoid death and healing people while doing it. Also knowing when to start the uber. That takes much more experience than you think.
If you ask me, I'd say Pyro, Soldier or Medic. Those three are pretty much the most straightforward in the very beginning.
In case you don't know, OP:
Pyro is an excellent close range class. His flamethrower is very useful for surprise attacks, since your enemies burn for a bit afterward. However, don't neglect your shotgun, since pyros are immune to afterburn, and some classes are now resistant to fire.
Soldiers have a high damage yield per rocket, especially so for crits (those glowing ones). You can use the blast force and range of your rockets to deal damage to groups in tight spaces, and since the rockets are self-propelled, you can fire them insanely long distances. Rocket jumps are also extremely useful, but I'd recommend watching youtube videos for that.
Medic is an in-combat support class, keeping your teammates alive via the medigun you're equipped with. You can set the beam onto someone and heal them to over 100% hp, giving them a buffer if you need to separate. Don't stay stuck to just one person, the more people alive around you, the better your team will do.
You should go under options>multiplayer>advanced and turn on a few functions, including the damage ping sound, damage numbers (if you're good at quick math), medigun lock (so that you don't have to hold the button down), and quick weapon switch (though that might be elsewhere). These options make the game a bit easier to play.
...and if you're determined to try spy, and go my route, don't play anything else for a while if you're set on that goal. It's so utterly unlike anything else in the game that you need to develop those skills separately. Spies aren't meant for open-range combat, you're more meant for the exploitation of enemy weak points (namely their backs). The different watches teach different lessons for spy, but all are great. Just keep in mind, you're going to be detrimental to your team for a while if you start as spy. I was too.
I personally started off with Spy, which was a pretty bad choice, but as I learned the maps and learned what to do and where, I got better.
Now I play Medic, Pybro, Soldier and Spy.

Firstly, if your healing target goes down, it's quite normal for a Medic to take up arms, and secondly, the Heavy is not always the best healing target, and concentrated fire will bring him down.
