• Would you like a Story mode?

Voted yes, but I have a hard time thinking how it'd fit in with the whole style of the game, and it's gameplay mechanics, wouldn't it get a bit odd? Although, a story mode could be anything, so I could be wrong of course.
Dah
wouldn't work because you only have one life and you'd have to find your weapons and ammo.
The more Valve games there will be the better.
I don't think that a single player mode would work, however a four-player co-op story-based mode would be great. Maybe bots could function as the other three players in a single player version so that you're not by yourself. That would only work, however, if you could pick your bot teammates' classes. [editline]6:04[/editline] A mode with heavier focus on the rich (back)story and beautiful landscapes would be nice. If it's open world and co-op, all the better in my opinion.
.....As much as i like the game...i don't feel a single player is necessary.
Not necessary, but it would definitely be welcome. I was thinking it would be cool for each class to have their own mini-campaign about their origin.
maybe if it was kinda RPG style. that's what im into but mission and objective modes would be pretty cool too. Single player would also be useful if something like, Your router goes out for example. Or you need to touch up on some skills before you get back into online mode from a long time of not playing.
I would LOVE a TF2 Campaign, but I think it should be a standalone game. Same art style, weapons etc, but with single player only, a big game with great story, like Half-Life. :3:
9-player coop campaign.
Each class could have a 30min/45min campaign where they do different things. Or go through the "game" as one class and the lines change to match it.

A singleplayer game SET in the TF2 universe could work
Since when is this L4D?
Since when are you so stupid? :v:
I'd like to see a story mode where you follow the story of each class individually. Or do it the way call of duty 2 did it, where you play as one guy in the first few levels, then another in the next few levels, then another in the next few.
Oooh, I like this. Everything in this post.
Other things that might be nice: Challenge missions for example kill an enemy heavy in a boxing ring or capture the intelligence. (Possibly unique missions for every class) Day/night cycles, season cycles, randomized weatherwith *gasp* actual effects on gameplay (for example in a heavy storm, large puddles slow you down and fog severely limits visibility or snow blocking certain pathways) Checkpoints instead of respawn points - your teammates have to reach a certain point in the map or all die before you respawn. Very similar to L4D. Bot enemies with dynamic health and damage values. Earning items separately from the normal TF2 (possibly for doing specific quests related to the weapon's backstory). Just my [del]two[/del] lots of cents.
It would be cool, but I'm not sure how you would make it without making it into a series of matches against bots.
Oooh, I like this. Everything in this post.
Get L4D or L4D2 then.
Oh my god this. So much this.
I've been thinking about this for quite a while. :smug: The only problem is that it would really push the limits of the source engine. With the amount of work something like this this would take, they might have to sell it instead of giving it out free, depending on if it would be a high-quality thing or a crappy mod. I personally would pre-order this 10 seconds after it came out, regardless of price.
9 player highlander co-op oh wait that already got posted fuck
I would prefer if there were more of a story kind of mode, but in multiplayer instead.

Like, a team? Yeah!
if they made a single player campain mode, it would split players from online to a single player, thus leading to less and less people playing online. and imagine release day for that... no-one would be online for weeks... I love story modes. It would be great if they introduced a RPG (like legend of zelda, just not the typical "save the princess" ****) style story where you could just take a break and go fishing or something. a better idea would be a world of warcraft type of game where you see everyone, and you can team up with partners and do quests and stuff. but then they would have to make either 1. large armys of soldiers 2. mythical beasts which would ABSOLUTLY NOT fit the TF2 setting... **EDIT** the last thing i would want is to be delivering flour to a baker as a heavy...

It wouldn't be so bad if it were done properly, example: Sniper Back-story Level one, you are in the Australian outback hunting for the rare [Insert name here] after you kill it, you meet a contractor from red, and he gives you a few missions to see if you are cut out to be the sniper for red.
9-player coop campaign.
This.
So wait? What is the TF2 backstory?
would like. you wouldnt be able to use unlocks. it wouldnt fit their stories well. Demo and soldier got their stuff mailed to them.
I support this idea mostly because it'd give VALVe a chance to expand the character's personalities beyond the Meet the Team videos. Well, if they add "half-life esque" cutscenes.
