I dunno. Pistol is probably more effective, but Bonk and Crit-a-Cola alter the playstyle in a fun and refreshing way for me. Too bad people don't get it when I distract sentries.
Bonk!
Bonk!, easily
Bonk. Crit-a-cola have saved me once, but invincibility will save me more often.
Not being a "combat scout" is like not being a "combat spy" or a "combat heavy". AKA, you're completely fucking useless.
Except non-combat scouts win rounds with their single minded determination on capping.
You're going to call that useless?
Pistol, I never found those drinks useful compared to the awesomness of those 45 damage crits.
And uhhh.. Both of those drinks are from the brand Bonk, so it should be Atomic Punch versus Crit-o-Cola.
Pistol or Bonk.
I crafted my Crit-a-cola for scrap.
Bonk, for taunt kills.
Crit-a-Cola, because its the best way to kill the overpowered heavies.
Crit-a-Cola, kill heavies easily :D
Well, it depends. If your a Scout that captures intels/points and isn't that good with dodging, I wouldn go with Bonk. But if you're a Scout that's good with dodging without Bonk and wan to rack up kills, then the Crit-A-Cola is the way to go. But me, I like Pistols. :3:
Bonk!.
Crit-A-Cola to kill enemy's quickly.
Crit-A-Cola, great to quickly killing.
(But against sentries Bonk! is my option)
You won't kill anything "quickly" using the Crit-a-Cola. The splash damage taken from a rocket will one-shot you, even at 5 meters.
I have almost never been able to shoot more than twice under the effects of the crit-a-cola.
Also, it would be much more useful used with the Pistol. Derp.

With the Pistol you shoot at a range that minimized your risk, which destroys the idea behind the mini-crit-risk. The idea is that the Scout - or the "Assassin" how he was also called in a Kritzkast by a Valve employee - rushes through enemy lines, quickly drinks the Crit-a-Cola, does some heavy damage and then flees before he can get into real trouble.
That's the theory anyways. Pyros were supposed to ambush, too, that's why the Backburner deals Critical Hits from behind (similar to the Spy's knife). The Scout was even called, again, by Valve, "a Spy without a cloak". But see for yourself how well those ambush classes work without a cloak.
I don't play Scout often, but when you do, it's usually going behind enemy lines and picking off vulnerable or targets at point blank range and most importantly dodge like hell. This dodging is how the Crit-a-Cola's drawback is supposed to be minimized in my opinion.

I do play Scout often.
You can't really dodge a Heavy firing his minigun, and when he mini-crits you you die in 5 bullets.
You can't really dodge the splash damage of rockets (fired by a decent Soldier), and when it's a mini-crit you get all the damage even if you are far from the explosion.
You can dodge... to some limited extent. The Crit-a-Cola is good for quickly killing someone who hasn't noticed you and is alone, but then you could have killed him even without the drink.
I would consider it useful if they got rid of the "mini-crits on the user" part. And even then, I don't think I'd use it over the Pistol.

:byodood:
Heavies aren't OP.. Atleast when you are a good scout then you can finish them off easily without CaC.
I usually go with pistol. Would've liked Lugermorph tho.. But nowadays I try to train my tactics with Bonk! aswell.

Yes, but the only draw back is mini-crits are also on the user, so you have to get behind them and keep on running, as not to get hit.

"The Lugermorph (Max's Pistol) is a secondary weapon for the Scout and the Engineer. It's a reskin of the pistol, and has no unique stats. The weapon was given to players who bought Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse within the first week of its release. It is based off of the titular Max's pistol. For more information, read the Pistol article. " As said by the TF2 Wiki, this page is found here.
Might as well stick with the pistol.

The first and second quote is a lie.
Pistol, but if i could carry a fourth item it would be critacola. Epic minicrit full auto pistol.
