• Are you still going to play Team Fortress 2 after this update?

Of course. Just because the community is crying about hats and pretty much everything Valve adds in doesn't mean I'm not gonna play. Of course, I don't play it much anyway (I don't play too many games anymore in general) but I play enough to be considered an active player.
Well, I'm still going to play it sometimes. But I think its extremely going downhill since the Mann-conomy update. Now, that valve has discovered that people are willing to pay for ingame-stuff, they are going to make update after update to milk the cow even more. And when after a while nobody buys stuff anymore ( and this day WILL come) they probably wont do any updates at all anymore. Kinda sad, if you ask me :(
I feel that at first, Valve wanted to make TF2 a shooter with feeling and charisma to it. Then they added the first few items and the community went bonkers for them. Then Valve said "fuck it" and just decided to make the game fun. And man that it is. It's still an incredibly charming game with a unique, distinct artstyle and more persona than any other current FPS. New items make the game feel fresh and fun to play from time to time, and combined with the whole of 9 classes, there'll always be a new way to play. Plus the community involvement is absolutely fantastic; I cannot name another game that has implemented weapons and items made or suggested by the community.
Eh, playing with the new toys is still fun, but I'd like Valve to hold their arms still for a moment and stop adding stuff for a few months so they can polish the game and evaluate their observations and mistakes. I also want them to post about development decisions and problems on the blog rather than just announce events we either already know about or half the community doesn't care about. I bet some modders would like to know why c_models take over and make their work harder (from what I've gathered). I'm also split about the medieval stuff. While it's a fun idea, it's making me fear future weapon design will be targeted to fit the medieval mode, but not the normal mode, corrupting the TF2 style even more. Still gonna play the game, but I can't say with the same feeling about it as I used to have.
This is the first major update that made me feel like not playing the game. I might keep playing, or maybe take a break like I have in the past. I don't know. I think a lot of my dissatisfaction from this update is just too much got added so suddenly. The class updates seemed more focused and let us know what we were in for. This update was like a 16 ton weight dropped on my head.
I'll keep playing but it's getting fucking ridiculous. At first I just ignored it. Now people seriously trade more than play the game. What's worse is that Valve sees this, fuels it and takes advantage of it.
I will just play it on and off more now.
Why wouldn't I keep playing? The MannCo store is bringing down the game though, REAL bad move by valve..
I might return, but for now it's a good excuse to say fuck PC games, I'm going to try and find a pretty girl and get laid and find a fucking life.

Yup. I have no choice.
I'm tired of it and I think this update went to far, but I can't say I would quit it.
I like the replies so far.
Yeah it's still a cool game. It IS going downhill though, I just feel like having less and less fun over time. What we need is another update made entirely by Valve, the community stuff just fucks up everything.
Yeah Valve may be making a few mistakes but wont stop me from playing the actual game.
Probably a bit when they add more [del]unfinished shit[/del] content. But otherwise, nope. Have they seen the Loch'n'Load's reload animation? Do they even playtest the updates before releasing them?
I plan on it, but not as much.
I literally can't. TF2 keeps crashing. :(
I'm starting to dislike tf2,but I still going to play it,only that I will play less
tf2 is still fun as fuck, all the new items are ace, trading owns, medieval mode owns, unusuals own. plus it's one of the few games that runs consistently well on my laptop. everything owns. valve owns.
Yes! Any reason why I should quit? "Oh noez, more hats and weapons!" :frog:
I have to admit that right now I have gained some distance to the whole hats and trading situation. At this very moment, I am really bothered by people buying some games solely for the hats in TF2. For example, Killing floor. I had it for quite a while, loved it and now got rewarded for having it. Some people bought it now. When I asked them why did they do so, they told me "because of the sale". Right. It was on sale like a hundred times now, really. It's just sad to me. That is why I gave away almost all of my hats to my friends. I have only like 2 of them, a modest pile for all classes and my beloved spy hat, The Frenchman's Beret. It's not even the fact that there are more interesting games out there. I care more about life in general, going out, being in a relationship. It's like I barely play games anymore. Mainly some sessions with friends, League Of Legends, Killing Floor and Minecraft when I'm bored. This might just be me, but I am tired of all the people using the once great and fun game as a hat and trading simulator.Sigh.
I am apparently among the very rare breed of TF2 player that has never had a really big problem with the updates and *gasp* likes the Mann-co store.
Same, those people quitting the game because of hats are the ones that truly cares about hats. I don't care about hats, i'm more interested in the weapons.
I'll be playing this game as long as there's a game to play.
Yeah, although I think they're taking this shit too far.
I'm pretty sad over the fact that they just ruined one of the franchises and universes that had the most potential EVER
Probably not or I won't play as much anymore.
My interest in the game has been waning for some time now, and even before this I was not filling my ridiculously low item cap. I doubt I shall give the game the time-of-day in future.
yes, until the end when you will pay for the updates ,as long they keep the free updates I will play
I stopped playing several updates ago when the focus became "Get tons of shitty hats that shit out particles and break the game's style while firing shitty exclusive weapons from a game you had to buy."
