Are you still going to play Team Fortress 2 after this update?

I'm just interested in your logic when you say you're not going to play it anymore.
If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies.
We're not playing because they're selling items you can only get with real money like the candy cane which give real ingame advantages and there's overpowered shit with no downsides like the amputator and uncreative +15 health -15 dmg shit and there's MORE SET BONUS FUCKING HATS SOME OF WHICH YOU CAN ONLY BUY
ugh god CSS is so much simpler than TF2 now even though it's full of elitist fucks it's still more fun
[editline]19th December 2010[/editline]
Yeah they're conversation starters except for when you're using the same guns as the enemy but he has +25 health because he bought a stupid fucking hat
Last I checked, the candy cane's downside makes it not worth using at all, you get hit once by the two most common classes and you're dead, you get splash damaged once and you're one shotgun shot away from death.
And when was the last time you stopped shooting someone to start meleeing them as scout? It rarely ever happens because it gets you killed, even if you incentivised it, it won't see much usage, if anything it'll make scouts using it easier to annihilate, like remember when the fish got added and you have scouts running about trying to get fish kills? That, except they die much quicker.

Forgive my ignorance but I was under the impression the new sets require just the weapon combination's and not the hats to work.
And the point I'm trying to make is when you're having fun and being social, stats and hats are secondary.
We don't all play to be social, having a fair and equal game matters to us

Go play with bots then.
I've always had a habit of disappearing for a while from the face of tf2, and coming back during a new update for a couple weeks. I am still unsure if I am doing it again this time.
uh
yeah
I used to be addicted to TF2
Now it's just boring.
A few parts of the update were kind of disappointing, but I'll still play.
Gave up on TF2 a long time a go.
The Boston Basher, I can see people using that if only because if used on a medic it'll fuck with his self heal and make retreating less viable, but then again it raises the question, why bother? You have a scattergun with 6 shots that can all deal a potential 100ish damage each, what's 5 seconds of bleed damage compared to 600 possible damage from a couple of well aimed shots? Would a scout even risk moving into melee range to melee someone, that's the kind of thing that'd just get him killed by a medic.
And if you miss, which is common when you're a scout trying to melee someone, you're only hurting yourself.
The Backscratcher gives the pyro more damage from melee in exchange for medic's being sorta useless on him, but the Powerjack's effect completely trumps it, and the axtinguisher is more deadly. Thank God himself if a pyro uses it, because it means you're either not going to die in one hit or you're not going to contribute to a follow up rampage by letting him kill you. You'll totally fucking demolish him even if he has a medic on him.
The Loch-n-Load, a measly 10-15 increase in damage and a slightly faster projectile in exchange for losing 2 nades loaded, and if you miss they don't blow up at all. I shouldn't even need to point out why this is terrible. Not to mention the increased self damage.
The Ullapool Caber, 100 self damage on melee? Even if you manage to get a kill from that, you're crippling yourself for free "crit". It's honestly the stupidest thing imaginable, why even bother using it when you've got a grenade launcher you can use from a safer distance close in for an almost impossible to miss shot, you'll take 0 damage and deal 100 out. Only use I can see for it is if you're using it with the Targe and want to be more mobile or want a free kill at the expense of your own life.
The Claidheamohmor, an Eyelander that doesn't give you the benefit you get for each melee kill, takes less health, and gives you a longer charge, you really shouldn't even be using the targe in the first place unless you're just derping about, it's irrelevant.
The Brass Beast, how many times have I died to a stationary heavy? A couple, how many times have I killed a stationary heavy without having to put any effort into kiting him around cover? Many a time, the +damage is only worth it on defense, and even then it's of questionable worth because as heavy you're only really useful jumping corners while spinning up to ambush people, otherwise everyone just gets away and heals before any real damage is done.
Buffalo Steak Sandvich, increased movespeed? Yes. Minicrits on you and for you? YES. Melee only? YE-wait seriously :geno:? Someone at Valve is chuckling maniacally to himself right now.
Warrior's Spirit, the effects are irrelevant, you don't melee as Heavy unless you're just playing for fun or playing a kooky gamemode, it doesn't happen when you're playing properly bar the odd occasion.
Fists of Steel, useful for running away from a fight you've just lost, about the only useful new item for the heavy, but heavily outclassed by the GRU.
The Jag, this is one of the other genuinely useful weapons, great if you're one of those useful engies who drops a level 1 in ambush spots while nobody's looking, not as versatile as the default wrench though, the extra second or so you save constructing a building probably won't make much a difference in the outcome of the battle, still nice though.
The Amputator, genuinely useful, but it leaves you an easy target for snipers and hell, everyone else. You'll probably see heal only medics using it and sometimes taunting, but otherwise using it like they'd use their normal melee weapon, not at all.
The Crusader's Crossbow, another useful item, but another one that you'll probably not see medics using because it's not their job to be a combat role and the arrows are inclined to miss whereas a heal beam locks onto it's target.
I'm going to continue playing tf2 because i bought it because i enjoy playing tf2.
Hats haven't made it any less fun, nor have alternative weapons.
It's still a fucking fantastic game.
I play this game because I have fun. I really don't give a shit about statistics or this silly economy, if I did i'd just go back to real-life. This game has put me in a trance since the first day I bought it, during the Heavy Update. Yeah I know why you complain, and why you refuse to play anymore, and maybe you're right, but it's serving it's purpose as a video game. To be fun.
Bet you a hundred dollars that most of the people who voted no are going to still play the game.

Been losing interest slowly... Honestly I miss the artstyle.
why reply
:irony:
honestly, i believe the new sets are okay, medic being the best which is good. The crossbow is extremely useful as pointblank is already 75 hp healed. Riutet, the arrow has a large hitbox. and it's good if you just shoot it into the cart. btw get better aim. it's an awesome weapon. The saw is also amazing. taunting when there is a large mass is definitly worth it. just get a medic to heal you while you taunt.
Nope, it's not fun like it used to be for me. It gave me a good 3 years of fun though.
Bet you a hundred dollars that most of the people who voted no are going to still play the game.
Give me your one hundred dollars... Or at least twenty.
I stopped playing after I didn't unlock any hats or weapons.
I have about 5-6 random drop guns since the updates and still no hats.
Nope, it's not fun like it used to be for me. It gave me a good 3 years of fun though.
Oh, you won't play it anymore?
Give me all your hats then.
Oh, you won't play it anymore?

it'd be smarter to sell them
I still play it but it's not what it used to be, gets shittier and shittier while my playtime lowers with it.
I miss pre-update TF2, and voted no. I'll probably boot it up occasionally to see if it's fun again. :saddowns:
Well, I guess TF2 beta is better.
I think what TF2 once was is now dead
Can somebody give a quick rundown on exactly why people are leaving? I don't get people's arguments for this.
I felt like I was missing out on everything after the polycount update. Since then I've gotten only a handful of polycount weapons and tada! Valve releases another huge cluster of weapons that I'll never get. Wee this is fun.

How about we all chip in a reason? I'll start. You almost definitely have to pay to use the new weapons.
You are subtly being psychologically tortured and coerced to buy keys
