I heard the rumors... that valve can delete Drop item system....
So prepare your anus on pain...
Like I said RUMORS.
Of course they can.
I liked TF2, until it got all the unecassary weapons and hats.
Yep
You know, valve isn't forcing you to use their new stuff not to mention buying them.
Plus I like some of the weapons and the new game mode

Like I said RUMORS.
They cannot. If they will they know what community will do. Removing drop system will lead to crash of tf2 trade market, because there would be no trade-able items except tools, therefore if you want to trade you have buy wrap. But why bother buying wrap when you can buy desired item itself? And then we will have trading and crafting removed.

Valve: y'know, pal, ya may not buy our stuff from mann co, ya can just craft it. but crafting requires 2 reclaimed so g'luck there

We have already few weapons which can't be obtain from Drop/Craft.
- Jag
- Candy Cane
- Back Scratcher
- Fists of Steel
I haven't check If they are possible to craft with tokens.

Not yet, but they will. You also forgot the Claymore, and mayber others.
I don't play nearly as much as I used too now anyway, but I still play occasionally. Things are seeming to get a little out of hand, but it's cool that the game is still so actively updated.
This guy sums it up for me
Yes. I like the new content, what i don't like is how you obtain it. I will still play.
I stopped playing it often a long time ago, I just can't be bothered any more.
It's because it's yet another "I'm quitting TF2" thread. Doesn't really matter if he attached a poll to it.
That's not the main focus of this thread, I simply want to know who's still playing.
What's with this fucking "honor" bullshit?
"Oh, I feel offended for something is not affecting me and I must express my anger by uninstalling this game. My e-peen will increase then by being a total conservative douche in the news section and insulting everyone who disagrees with my blinded-by-nostalgia biased opinion"
This is more depressing than half the threads in the GD section, seriously...
Still, I'm not playing it with much frequence recently, mostly because I got Killing Floor a few days ago, so I'm putting it to rest a bit, maybe I'll start playing with frequence again when all this update craze ends, and I hope seeing a fair blueprint for the Jag and some stuff fixed by then.
You do not need to kill with the Cane to get a healthpack, you just need to have it equipped. Pistoling will drop health. Scattergun kills will drop health. Assisting in somebody else's kill will drop health.
That's pretty bad then, but still not worth the 25 percent damage vulnerability, you'd be better taking Mad Milk or default by a long shot.

holy exaggerations batman
something is not affecting me
except it is affecting people - getting killed by an overpowered weapon that someone just bought, that you don't have because it takes ages to drop, or massive amounts of metal to craft, isn't fun at all

no, maybe we just want to stop playing, and the only reason we're telling people is that there is a thread entitled "Are you still going to play Team Fortress 2 after this update?"

???
it's damn worth it! add with mad milk to be the ultimate self healing and anti medic machine.
In my opinion, TF2 has passed its due date, and Valve is just trying to milk any money out of it they can now.

For all of you people giving me crates, I can't unlock them. Stop!

You're making fighting in close quarters an instant death encounter in exchange for a small health boost if you manage to survive it, there are medkits dotted about the map for a reason.

If by overpowered you mean "new weapon I don't have", and by "ages to drop" you mean "will enter the drop system in January", and by "massive amounts of metal" you mean "13 weapons", and by "isn't fun at all" you mean "involves being able to adapt", then I think you're right.
It's slowly losing it's touch on me.
i stopped playing tf2 long ago. i play it sometimes
loosing interest slowly every time I'm killed by someone using set bonus bullshit that has no kill icon, taunt or animation that isn't already in the game.
And the art style has been raped.
I don't hate TF2, but i can see myself not playing it in the near future if these lazy updates pick up more pace.
That's not the main focus of this thread, I simply want to know who's still playing.
Well then... I'm still playing. :v:
This game never stopped being fun for me and I'll keep going with it as long as there are items and achievements to collect, maps and servers to play on, etc. I'm not going to quit just because everyone has a silly hat and can buy items now. Just makes it more fun for me. Shakes up the visuals and gives it more variety without having to install custom skins.
I haven't actually started to play less because of the updates. I don't bother buying new items, because the basic ones and the drops are goo enough for me.
To be honest, I stopped playing after the Polycount update and Mann Store. I've been a player since the first week or two of TF2, and it's just lost it's fun, to me at least. It felt less like I was playing for fun, and more like I was just playing for the items and hats. I just wish Valve would stop updating with all the new hats and weapons, and just keep all the functions we have now working. Seriously, there's like, over 80 hats now? I feel like if I start playing again, I'm gonna have to collect all of the new stuff. Don't get me wrong, I loved, and always will love TF2. It's probably one of the best games I've ever played, but it's just gone way too deep with the mass amounts of updates and items.
Well, that and I gave away most of my stuff to Steam Friends about a month ago, when I started playing Black Ops.
You know, I like hats and all, but I just wish Valve didn't keep adding more of them, especially the ones that don't fit (I'm looking at you dapper topper).
Why they don't make a new game mode?: Old School :s:
-No items from your backpack can be used
-Birthday mode enabled
-Trading disabled while playing
-Engis can't move their Sentries
-Only Official maps can be played [Optional]
:iia: :ms:
Someone send this to Valve, NAO!
Well I booted it up today and joined the first populated Control-Point server to see what had been added. Suddenly, I'm on some medieval map with only a melee weapon, surrounded by medics taunting and giving off some aura and bows and arrows and shit. I thought maybe it was a server plugin, but now I hear about this "medieval game mode"...
And shit, I thought TF2 had gone down the shitter a while ago. Looks like that was just warm up.

Seriously, I miss 2007-2008 TF2. :saddowns:
Of course. The updates haven't drastically changed the core gameplay, and the weapons provide fun alternate playstyles. The artstyle hasn't been ruined, most of the items fit the classes or the artstyle, and no one has an argument against most of the hats except "I don't like the way it looks." The game's still fun, it's just that some people have gone psycho over cosmetics. The only thing it needs is another Classless update with some new maps, bugfixes, and balance tweaks.
I bet 80% of the people who said they'd stop playing after this update will be playing TF2 in a couple weeks.
Honestly, I don't mind paying for keys if I want to unlock a box, or particularly the winter crates. It's a fun little thing, like a scratch off lottery ticket. But more than that, I got the orange box for 20 bucks. TF2 was cheap as shit, and so were l4d and l4d2 on major steam sales. So sure valve, I'll tip you a few bucks for some keys and a fun gamble every now and then. Don't expect me to buy any hats or item packs though, that's just bullshit.
Yes, but I'm going through my GMod phase right now(get bored of tf2, play gmod for a month and vice versa).
