How the hell does a pirate themed event make ANY sense during Christmas?
pirates, zombies and ninjas make everything better.
I think you are all missing the actual point of this event 100 FUCKING STEAM GAMES OF YOUR CHOICE fuck the hats, think about all those games
On the other hand, that part of the event is a lottery. And you know what they say about lotteries and taxes...
this is stupid, insane, even downright crazy though i'm doing it.
At the very least most people will probably get the first hat, if they keep one objective per bracket something simple, like tweaking some setting on your profile.
side effect: you get 100 games
I was planning on buying Pokernight at the Inventory anyways, and now it's only 2.99.
How the hell does a pirate themed event make ANY sense during Christmas?
There will probably be a separate Christmas themed tf2 update this month aside from it. Besides, there is also usually an insane set of steam christmas deals around this time.
Valve got lazy as fuck, didn't bother to make an Xmas theme. Come on, Valve, enough with sucking other peoples dicks for more money.
You know what's the worst part? You know some poor loser on SPUF is gonna buy R.U.S.E for hats.
Who cares about the new hat anyway? I bet its going to be something tacky and gaudy looking.
Probably. But even if it was a lump of shit, make it limited to 10'000 versions, and BAM! Suddenly SPUF is fighting to get a shit on their heads.

This has happened already. And not just in SPUF
I really hope they make enough objectives so that you can at least hit the bare minimum without having to buy new games for the sake of getting them.
If this contest has New Vegas achievements, I'm positive I already have whatever achievement I need.
If this contest has New Vegas achievements, I'm positive I already have whatever achievement I need.
I'm annoyed that I missed so many achievements because I toyed with the console a single time during long play sessions. I'm not an achievement kind of guy, but I don't like incongruities... so the oddly absent achievements bother me. Uh... hats?
Guys if you own any games besides TF2 you'll probably be able to get the hat. Seriously it's not like you'll have to buy all these games. They might add some to older games like CSS or games you bought for other TF2 items like Sam and Max and Worms Reloaded.
I hope the Bounty Hat isn't too ugly :ohdear:
More unfitting hats that retards will buy anyway

I have to say Chime is a way more fun than i expected.
I don't need these 100 games.I'm happy with these i have. The funny thing that there are lots'o'objects,so a lot of steam user will get this stupid hat,and a chance to get 5 games from wishlist\100 games.
Some heads up to events like these events would be nice. I have to send money from my bank which takes like 5 days.
I bet its "Pirate themed" because if they had a Snow or Christmas theme, it would probably piss off certain people...I mean, it might not, but it wouldn't fit in in other parts of the world.
Crappy content from me, ahoy!
Remember children, you don't need the silly little in game hat that does nothing, so don't think VALVe is forcing you to buy the games, your lack of self control is making you buy games.
You know: Screw the new hats. I won't take part in that contest.
Hopefully I own enough steam games to actually get into the contest, or at least get one of the hats.
Does anyone else think its super low of Valve to bait people with the hats, ESPECIALLY SINCE WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE HATS LOOK LIKE?
why the hell has my topic been moved to GGD? Mine was EXACTLY this. sheesh.
