Engi and Sniper vs. Spy (Valve's employees are sneaky bastards)
Until the Engineer Update,Medic's update was my favorite.
For the maps: Engineer Update For everything else: Either Sniper/Spy or Heavy
So many good updates, I can't decide..... but Heavy update gets special mention for introducing Arena mode! Ever since arena mode came out, I don't play anything else ;)
Engi... I've saw all the other updates, but I don't really remember them :saddowns:
I play them all equally. [editline]09:14PM[/editline] Which means my skill is distributed throughout all of them, making me equally bad with all the classes :saddowns:
War update was the best...not sure about weapons, each class has one weapon that I find essential, and weapons that simply change my play style.
ITT People who think Engi update is the best because it's the one they got the freshest memories of.
WAR Update... it was pretty interactive with your class.
Hmm. Even though I only use one unlock from the whole update, the War Update was really fun times all around.
I voted classless, because of KotH, which I find to be one of the best gamemodes.
Sniper/spy was the worst, at least the hat part. The game was better without the hats. You could play the game instead of hoping to get a hat when you died/idled or be sad because you don't have any. I like hats but it doesn't fit TF2 and now its just... different. Sorry.
Spy Vs Sniper.

Oh yeah, forgot IMO.
The Heavy update. It introduced the Lunchbox weapon class. Sadly, it seems to have never caught on.
Demoman, I love getting 15 kills in a row with the Eyelander.
Sniper vs. Spy I wasn't playing TF2 when it came out, yet the back-and-forth action, the jokes, and the many character references really made this one stick.
I like all of the updates myself. Can't really choose a favorite. I use a ton of the unlockables, at least one for each class. But if I had to choose I would probably say the Sniper vs Spy update(even though I voted for the Engineer because I'm having tons of fun with the new weapons).
Pyro. It added a much required style to the class. And now it actually requires skill to play as a pyro against other pyros instead of just spamming the place with fire. Also, airblast! :downs:
Heavy. The huge wave of Sandwich picnics and heavy boxing was awesome.
Agreed. Other than this I would have to say the Pyro.
TL;DR Spy/Sniper, Engie a close second. I've only been playing since Dec, so I only have an overview from the current loadouts and the update pages I visited, but I'm gonna stick with Spy/Sniper. It's an interesting two-class-battle which brought versatility to both classes and made ingame Spy/Sniper relationships more interesting. How you play Spy is strongly influenced by your watches and the Ambassador can also give you a new approach. A game without throwing piss around isn't the same, the Huntsman was successful in his task to bring Snipers closer to the frontlines and the Razorback is a running gag. With other class updates I see less motion. The Heavy is still the Heavy, a Kritz Medic needs other targets and more dodging but is essentially the same with any loadout, the Pyro had more little extras rather than a new gamestyle (and was even more heavy on fire-based damage with the Flaregun and Axtinguisher), the Soldier hasn't changed much either and I've rarely seen people making good use of mid-air-minicritz, the Scout is still more annoying than anything. The Demoknight is a big exception, tho I'm not sure if that was the best way for this class... The Engie update was very successful in changing the Engineer's playstyle, but it's not getting my vote because of the GW hysteria. While I'm not mad at it and probably will forget it as seeing an actual GW user will be even rarer than seeing a Soldier with a medal (which I still haven't), I still see it as unfair. Yes, there were fair chances for everyone, but you could craft all your backpack and get nothing while someone else crafts once and gets it. That's the unfair, the "lucky" or "random" part. Like I said, you people probably have a way better overview on things, so while I'm open for discussion I'll stress one more time the only update I've fully witnessed was the Engie's and thus I don't share the same insight. Just wanting to share my two cents with everyone and hey - maybe it's interesting to see the perspective of a new player.
Demoman/Soldier. Just because of the targe. Oh god I love that thing.
Why has everyone forgotten about pairoh? He got airblast, which is a MAJOR team component, in TEAM Fortress 2.
Engie the new toys are nice.
Why has everyone forgotten about pairoh? He got airblast, which is a MAJOR team component, in TEAM Fortress 2.
And that was about it. No mystery, wit, whimsy or intrigue involved in the release.
engi update made the game so much more fun
And that was about it. No mystery, wit, whimsy or intrigue involved in the release.
Given that this the second update, that wasn't really thought on enough. as I recall, wasn't Medic update a little boring too?
Scout and Spy/Sniper were the most, revolutionary, I guess you'd say? The hats and domination voices really made the game a lot cooler because they new lines give more of a look into the characters' thoughts as well as making it funnier, and hats added a bit of style and individuality.
