I play as soldier a lot more than demoman, so I guess I'll go on the soldier side. I just hope that he'll get something different as a replacement for the rocket launcher, not just a rocket launcher that maybe does more damage or fires at a different speed. A M60-like machine gun would be awesome.

I've been playing about 4 hours. I have about 50 Demoman kills, but they also killed me a lot too. I'm kinda bad about rushing into spots filled with stickies, but I can't really help it when there's 11 demomen on freaking 2fort....that was insane. Luckily I had a krits medic helping me kill a lot of them en masse for part of it.
I then went into a KOTH map and got like 30 Demoman kills in 1.5 hours or so. It sucks that assists don't count. Some do, but you have to do most of the damage.
Anyways, I like what Valve did with this update. It will probably show the n00bs that Soldier is a better offensive class than the damn Sniper for a change on maps like 2fort, and since its a dual update, there won't be maps of 16 vs 16 demoman or something. Ugh.

if you only get 30 demo kills in 1.5 hours most likely they are killing you more, if this is happening do us all a favor and go demo while letting yourself get killed.

I just got my Novint Falcon and I was planning on practicing with it this weekend. I guess if I want to contribute, it'll have to wait. They say put about 20 hours with it before you equal or surpass your mousing skills. I got 2 Demoman kills last night; I was playing for about 20 minutes.
Well, normally I don't single out and go after Demomen. This was on KOTH Harvest so most of the times I died I was killed by another soldier, sniper, or Pyro, etc, before I could kill the Demoman. Or another soldier killed him.
On 2fort the demoman team (most blues were demomen) were literally raining grenades on us and strafing all of our rockets.
I think it really depends on the maps, some of the classes are stronger on some maps than others are.

Bear in mind that those are kills against all classes. We have no idea how it breaks down per class.
Demos definitely get more kills overall but soldiers are one of the tougher classes so it could be a different story for this war.
