I hope to see something so ungodfully ridiculous i start projectile vomiting pumpkin seeds.

Marie Antoinette Pyro, complete with red mark around the neck?
I dunno, I love a lot of the restricted Halloween items, but I actually place LESS value on them compared to items I can wear all the time. If I could wear them any time I wanted, I'd be wearing them a lot more, as redundant as it is to say that.
I don't look forward to wearing the Master Mind (my favorite Engineer hat), because I'm not paying any amount of metal or money for something I can never wear except for every 4 weeks. It is seriously not worth storing them in your backpack.
Seriously, at least let us wear them on Halloween maps or on more dates. Friday the 13th. That extra day in February every leap year (which we all know is the birthdate of every lich and long lived warlock). And the scariest of all dates, Valve's Annual "No-Update" Vacations.
It would be nice if they could at least let the item creators wear their own hat all times of the year if they're going to be such sticklers about it being restricted to Halloween.
Personally I find the idea of stuff being restricted to Halloween quite silly, not so much for the loss of revenue but the fact that it denies me the use of stuff I want to wear all the time, so maybe as a sign of protest we should just go back to making our usual non Halloween stuff to submit to the workshop and pretend that the mod Halloween fest Void and Co. are planning to be our halloween update.
yo valve not gonna lie but restricting the plutonidome lost you a lot of potential revenue just sayin
Fixed the Flex target preview in the Steam Workshop item import tool
Could someone explain what this is? I opened up import tool and couldn't see anything different.

Seems to me that we could actually see the flexed item move when in the importer. Gotta try that when i'm home.
But the only thing that lets you see flexes in the importer is the laugh taunt, you can't really be sure if all the flexes work or not...

Seems odd that the same view that cannot preview jigglebones can now help you preview flexes. Are flexes viewable in the loudout view when you change taunts and stuff because then that would make sense.

I really don't understand why its a Halloween item to begin with:

Ghost heads? Fine.
Robot heads? Fine.
Light bulb heads? Fine.
Iron mask heads? Fine.
Brain in a Pyro mask? COMPLETELY AGAINST THE STYLE

I do believe that one was restricted due to technical issues, since no eye miscs work, and i think some hats don't either.

Because adding the lenses equip region was harder than coding restrictions :v:
Honestly the only items I want restricted are the zombie souls, everything else is fine.

I was reffering to the fact that they clip trough it, or float, i don't remember correctly.
their response was along the lines of 'The way we look at it, at some point there will be enough restricted items, that they will be more of a 'thing' and people will almost look forward to being able to equip them during full moons'
It's been what, three or four years? And they're REALLY still sitting on their hands and saying "well MAYBE they'll like it this year!"
God. Just. The sheer lack of communication with the community in a game that is literally run by the community at this point is astounding.
You know something? I think that if every single community contributor stopped working on Halloween items and come Halloween Valve had nothing to ship, I still don't think they'd "get it."

halloween 2013 boycott, let's make this happen.

Yeah, and adding the equip region would fix that. Also it's not a big deal tbh, there's worse clipping in the game.

Quite a lot of contributors haven't made anything for halloween. I think even before this announcement we all knew it was coming. You can probably already expect a lower turnout

Good for us folks with no standards, I guess. I'd gladly take a sparkly item I can wear 10 days a year (and brag about every single day) and fewty dollars.
I want my first to be with something special~
i want my SJ back ;_;

I urge modelers everywhere to make nothing for the workshop until Valve removes this
PLEASE, for our sanity

Everyone else stop making items so I can make them all thanks bye.
Operating under the delusion that anyone gives a poop about my opinion, I want to say that I think the approach they're taking to halloween restrictions now is basically perfect.
I'm ambivalent to the restrictions on existing community items; On one hand I'm really glad I don't have to see fairly princesses in TF2 all year round. On the other, I imagine it was quite a letdown for the people whose items got in and then unexpectedly got slapped with a restriction that made them almost worthless, and the arbitrary-ness with which the restrictions were applied (Plutonidome is too goofy, Crone's Dome and Skull Island Topper are a-ok?) was unfair.
By making it clear from the beginning that they're going to restrict everything this time, they're avoiding that whole unfairness business, and now modelers who still care about the art style/setting can let their imaginations run wild without having to worry about fucking up those for the rest of the year.
And also, being the conservative grumpy old coot that I am, I think the fact that all this year's halloween items will be restricted is stellar in itself.

It still really fucking sucks for the people who made art-style compliant items in hopes they'd be able to use them all year round.
