It'll obviously be some sort of weapon to mute scouts in the area.
My idea, might be repetitive: [insert name here]!!! Basically a ramped up radar that has a good balance of perks and drawbacks. Lv. 1: basic, has a single satellite dish that simply points to any nearby enemy, but can only rotate horizontaly. Limited range. Lv. 2: intermediate, now emits a loud bleeping noise when an enemy approaches, and satellite dish can rotate in any direction in order to pinpoint the target. Medium range. Lv. 3: advanced, all of the previous features, except now disguised and cloaked spies show a vague outline when they draw near! Pros: enemy detection (spies!), lots of health Cons: costs a ton of metal, and replace the teleporter, sacrificing team cooperation for self preservation. Probably more suited for arena than cp. Just idea. Don't flip out.

1. Backpak dispenser. Slows down engie but heals. 2. Sentry with longer range. (dont really care how). 3. I dunno healing tele with longer wating time maybe? I DONT KNOW DAMMIT!
I'm glad the Engineer update is last, he can be balanced with all the weapon unlocks.

If they were willing to try that out, who knows what the engie could get. Though new buildings would be awesome.
I want a Railgun replacement for the shotgun. The Railgun should do as much damage as an uncharged sniper-rifle shot, and it should temporarily electrocute people and make them take more damage from sentry gun attacks. [editline]07:10PM[/editline] (By electrocute, I don't mean stun)

Usually an Engie would build his nest to defend against all types of foes. Now because of the update, they have changed their tactics to anti demo/soldier. Engies actively leave the nest and hunt down demos and soldiers drawing fire away while the sentry kills them off. The spies are getting rapes by the explosions so they aren't much of a problems and the knockback from this conflict is stopping bonk scouts from getting past.
I love playing Engineer, just so much fun

Buildings are really the only thing viable for an upgrade, and developers have to take extreme precautions, in this case especially, that they won't cause a major advantage. A slight change with the sentry or an entire new building could immediately tip the scales in bad direction. But yes, I also want an engie upgrade soon. I'm giving it 3 months to happen.

They promote new play styles, rather than buffing or nerfing a class. The PDQ is the best engie example of this idea(and the only one that was in the beta). Promoting battlengie playstyles is a great idea.... Quick flanking sentries in seconds, and shotgun support. I knew a guy in one of the servers I used to frequent who never upgraded his sentry above level 1, and actively destroyed and moved it around a map. He did quite well, teleporters when we needed them, dispensers on the front line, and he was a good help to distract, delay, and even straight up destroy the enemy in a fight. No one expects the battle engie. Even if the unlocks from the engie are ill received by the community, I can see at least a small portion of people(including me) getting more reason to bring out the class, much like the kritzkrieg.
