I have all milestones, but I can't seem to find Direct Hit or the boots.
The Gunboats are from a random drop.
I got mine about 10 mins ago, they're not horrible or useless, It's just a shame it takes up the Secondary Slot.
Wait now, if the Demo had won it would be taking up the pipe bomb launcher... man, fuck that. I'd rather the Soldier have it. Hopefully there'll be less retarded Demomen using nothing but the fucking sticky launcher in combat.
I get really sick of seeing Demos on my team resorting to sticky spam when one well placed pipe will solve his entire problem. Not that I'm immune to that either, honestly, I start doing it in panic usually. And then I die because sticky spam doesn't do much.

You take about 10 damage from the initial blast and if you land on an area with similar height you take about 30 damage from the drop.
Useful counter to the eyelander, Blast up to damage him and avoid the sword, whip out Equalizer and proceed to carve him a new arsehole.
In the hands of the demoman the gunboats would be very overpowered. He could probably use a third sticky to jump even higher than was thought possible and perhaps even survive the fall.
To be honest, i like the shotty, so i won't use the Gun-Boats, but then again, depending on the map, they can be useful, as a normal rocket jump does 30 to 60 damage, (plus extra fall damage) And the gunboats like minimizes the damage to like under 20, so really, it depends on how you play soldier, and what you prefer.
If they didn't take up a weapon slot they wouldn't be balanced. They would just be a straight upgrade. Plus if you're rocket jumping to a high location, the shotgun isn't going to be that useful anyway.
If you're more of a hit 'n run person, jumping in and out of combat, the gunboats probably work the best, but if you're in the midst of battle for the most part with a medic and all of that, you might want to use the shotgun because you're going to be running out of ammo fast.
