Each character would have a theme. It wouldn't be an overarching, every-character-needs-to-fit-into-one-theme kind of theme, but every character would have an individual, Polycount-type theme. AKA Electric theme for Engie, etc. etc. People pick the class they want to contribute to, we make four teams, each team picks a theme they want to do for their character, and each member creates one item that fits that theme.
Ok, assuming this goes through, could we get Explosive-based Demo? Because I notice the 'mad-bomber' part of his personality is shunted to theside for his shear Scottishness.

A new sticky launcher! Which doesn't change the style of play much. We got a shield and a sword! Which don't have anything to do the the demo part of the demoman. And an axe. Come on. Most of the demoman poly packs that I've seen also shunted away the explosive part in exchange for the scot part. I want a demoman with more explosive tools, dammit.
Hey guys, here is my official post of me hopping on the Back to the Future bandwagon. Here is a showcase video showing the jigglebones and animated textures! Hope you guys like it. My only concern atm is the label gun tags seem to be making it really noisy, but other than that i am very happy with it!

You people want the Demoman to be the Demoman? Absurd, everyone knows he's that black Scottish melee guy who blows stuff up on the side. And did I mention melee and Scottish? Don't forget the melee and Scottishness of him. Valve's thoughts on Demo. The backstab effect should be it getting set to a random date, then it leaves a trail of burning footprints in the direction the player was pointing.
So next the Engineer needs to make a device which allows him to run at 88MPH, then he has his own teleportation backpack.

It looks great Trey.

Now Engie just needs to find a way to get to eighty-eight MPH on foot. :v:
How about a home-made theme? A lot of the original weapons in TF2 looked very customized, especially Pyros flamethrower. How about expanding on that, creating new weapons entirely put together by the classes themselves?
Trey I know it's a small thing but maybe you should set the date to 1968?
I think skipping the numbers, adding some more comical name for his time period, and making the text bigger would make it work better. I think the text is too small, together it looks too detailed and weird. Make the display bigger, so it's easier to read and looks less like a confusing detail. Add some comical name for his time period, rather than actual dates. Having actual dates is more likely to inflict with how Valve imagine their game, and it's also less funny.
Trey I know it's a small thing but maybe you should set the date to 1968?
Yeah, right now it is just set to the same date 3 times. When i add in detail i will be changing the dates and years to things that fit with tf2 and the Back to the Future trilogy!
As if some semi-official vote is going to decide it all. TBH there are much better themes to do. than the ones neo came up with at the time.
Excuse me I spent like 5 pages collecting the community's ideas. I don't think any of them are mine.
So you think i should remove the labels alltogether and make the displays a bit larger?
Yeah. Make it look more like something you could perhaps see in a cartoon series. As a kid, you usually would not be able to reference well what time period a character went back or forwards to using a time machine if they just said the date they were going to, instead they would often use a word that humorously describes the time they go back or forwards to. Use the same logic with the TF2 players. TF2 players won't often see the text, and when they do they won't often put much thought into it. So when they see the text, you want it to be easy to read, and you want it to be easy to understand. Having it be less specific with the dates will also leave it more open to the imagination.
How about a nuclear theme?

I like the little details and the accuracy, simply because I'm able to look at it and say "heh, 1955". Creative liberties being as they are, though, and in an effort to keep it clean, it probably would be a good idea to condense and simplify. (As long as you include both versions in any downloads :v: )

I'm screwing around with 3ds Max as we speak. I'll see if I can do anything decent. [sp]I'm probably googling tutorials as you read this[/sp]
You could use terms such as "The 60's era", "The Mannbot's Reign" and "The Australium age". These are just suggestions though, I'm sure someone could think of something more clever :3:

I was building both the time circuits and the flux capacitor to be as close to the originals as the art style would allow, while also trying to add in some tf2 cartoonyness (plutonium hooked with with jumper cables). I wanted it to be pretty clear what both items where and i think i have pulled it off with or without the label gun tags. I think i will keep the one label on the flux capacitor box (Only because it looks quite bare if it isn't there) but i feel the tags above the numbers adds a bit too much noise into it. I will make two separate versions with and without the tags on the time circuits.
Awesome! I really like it, but i am a bit confused. I don't remember that being in Back to the Future?
Neither do I, but he did say completely different. Also I prefer it with the lightbulbs.

Lightbulb version is better, and would be made of awesome if they alternated flashing. EDIT: I think it's an original creation, since he did say "completely different".
Oh and HD Payload Skin?
I say it again, i can't make the HD payload if i don't have the AO map of it. I asked a lot of time if someone can generate it. Why nobody want to help me......:eng99:
