Diesel engines and IV bags.
Also going to do a Sputnik helmet for Heavy.
So that's three planned projects from me.
Sounds awesome. I thank you for thinking outside of the box and not using needles or batteries.

People around here lack creativity. If anything this event should inspire more creativity. It's more of a challenge.
You're right Nzdjh, sorry for bashing the theme. It's not so bad.
Still needs more scopes
needs more cowbell

You know, I'm suprised that no one has made a gun for the medic that shoots pills. I've been sitting on the idea for a year or so now, and I've been amazed that no one else thought about it or even mentioned it. Seems logical for the medic to have a "pill popper" [sp]ha ha, get it?[/sp]
needs more cowbell
shouldn't you be elsewhere keeping it clean
Not to put down any ideas, but around this time electronics were large and not anything like today: think vacuum tubes, program tapes, and those computers that printed out dots on paper. Also this era was the race to space time period, might want to look into that more (like that sputnik hat) perhaps a cosmonaut theme for heavy. Its still electric-ish. For engineer I was thinking something along the lines of war time USA production, rivet gun would fit nicely there. As for medic, the defibrillator was well in use by 1960, that would be a great "electric start." Demoman is going to be hard pressed to fit into an electric category... I really liked my pirate theme ideas for him.
also I just realized that all the classes that didn't get poly-count items are directly in the middle of the selection area.

Kind of.
He does have remote-controlled mines, how do you think that works? It's not like sword'n'board is the highest tech available to him. He does concoct the charges of his own explosives, which would make him the third craftiest member of the team, second even if Medic turns out to not have invented any of his gear.
The problem I see (and you might have been referring to this, in which case I agree) is that the nature of his weapons is exceedingly restrictive when it comes to new ideas. It's gonna require some sort of twist to come out with a good concept for him.

We could always just start off with the bagpipe melee weapon and go on from there.
This theme has me worried.
I for one would certainly not want an electricity themed Pipe Launcher (or more goddamn Demoknight weapons) for Demoman.
It just seems like it would be weapons equally fit Demoman as the Dapper Topper fits Soldier :(

just saying though, pirate theme... maybe a cannon ball that you light and chuck? does more damage but you have to through one at a time.
OOH! just thought a better one, remember that tri-barrel canon in "dead mans chest"? make that a replacement for the pill launcher.

Yeah but the thing about the Pirate theme is that it would only fit Demoman.
I think a more diverse theme that isn't as restricting or unrelated to the 50-60's theme of TF2 would work better.
Then again I realize the voting is over and people who like the theme will start a shit-storm with me if I criticize it anymore...
So I guess I'll just go along with it and pretend that I think it's all not a wasted effort.
You know what a slightly electric based explosive worked for the demoman?

Come up with something like that.

The demo works with nitro glycerin. Work with that as well.

I hate to draw out the CSS and COD fans out, but C4 does need an eletrical charge to set it off...

Wait what? Nitro glycerin needs just a small impact or movement of any kind to blow up, no electricity needed D:
Also, nitro glycerin bottles as nades? :o
C4 isn't nitroglycerin, though.
Surely you must mean C3. TF2 is old.
Surely you must mean C3. TF2 is old.
Actually, C4 was used in the vietnam war...ala around the time tf2 takes place.

i pretty sure you missed the joke
i pretty sure you missed the joke
I get the joke, but i really don't think its funny.
Ok so i think i am done with the Back to the Future backpack.

Basically dirtied up the texture, added rust and paint strokes. You know the deal. Also changed the flux capacitor fluxing texture to a better one. Now you can clearly see a surge of time power or what ever the fuck flows through those things.
Also coming up with a name. I honestly could not think of a good one. The best i could come up with is "The Calender Cruisers Crazy Contraption" and thats so bad it hurts.
Oh yeah, who remembers this?
[img_thumb]http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/4951/electrohat.png[/img_thumb]
Where's Zombuster when you need him? This would be an excellent addition imo.
man i KNEW i'd seen this before, i kept asking people for it and nobody knew where it was :(
Yeah but the model in the picture looks like dynamite. Dynamite is an absorbent soaked in nitroglycerin. However dyanmite has been known to be detonated with an electrical cable.
So it's, in my mind, perfectly acceptable. If lacking in creativity. I just wanted to point a slight misconception.
However it is entirely possible that this is C4 and my knowledge is extremely flawed and I wrote all that for nothing.
:smithicide:
Now this would make a good replacement to something:

I am so very very sad that this pack didn't win. It was loads better :(
Also yay contest/collab thing.
because valve seems to only like c_models, my electro-taser had his own v_model...
i probably will redo evil's and your pack with the c_model animations sometime this month. dont hold it to me though, unless its the tazer or occams razor.
Electric theme for Demoman seems a bit hard, the only thing I can think of is "maybe" some sort of EMP Grenade Launcher.

A sword with a battery attached to it.
A shield with a battery attached to it.
A grenade launcher that shoots batteries.
A battery that shoots grenade launchers.
