Shock trooper
"That light headed feeling"
Anyone knows how to add particles to models? I wanna add flies to my V.Sandvich.
Why I think the entire Killing Floor set should have been one big miscellaneous item... [img_thumb]http://i51.tinypic.com/wqujjd.png[/img_thumb] I, for one, think that those all look quite swanky...
While this sounds like a good idea, I don't really like the look of the mask on him, his default mask matches his whole color scheme, whilst this one doesn't. If you could choose for it to be separate or not, that would be great, because I understand some people would like to do this, but I still would like only wearing the tie.

A big complaint about the Lumbricus Lid was that the Grenades and Helmet weren't separate items, so that the Tie and Mask were separate items were in my opinion an occurrence of Valve doing promo items the right way. Aside from the bright white color on the mask, but at least there's paint for that >:
The tie and mask should remain separate items. What Valve needs to do, instead, is add a second misc slot. Why they haven't done so already is beyond me. I want to wear my misc items with my Polycount Pin, dammit. I love the fucking tie but I just can't bring myself to wear it over my precious pin.
Could someone make preview (every color) new pyro tie?
I wish the Tie was paintable :( I would prefer paint to paint it fully, the black lines as well. Having it full-colored would allow for a lot more references than if it was just the teamcolored part. However it would still be great if only the teamcolored part was paintable, because I could still use black on it to make the color fit in with the tie and so make it fully colored, and applying teamcolors to it would probably make it fit in with Pyro's colors a bit better because as it is now it' a little bit too dark.
well no shit making a playable level thats completely balanced and great at the same time is difficult What i was trying to say that, once you're good at it, making a map look neat and pretty is really simple.
unfortunately for you the point of making a map is not to make it look neat! unlike modelling, where aesthetics is the only thing that really matters, looks are (or should be if you were any good at mapping) on the very bottom of your priority list. weren't you the guy who put like a billion props on his artpass map?
Sounds about right, given what the Emporium map looked like
unfortunately for you the point of making a map is not to make it look neat! unlike modelling, where aesthetics is the only thing that really matters, looks are (or should be if you were any good at mapping) on the very bottom of your priority list. weren't you the guy who put like a billion props on his artpass map?
Well as far as I've gathered, his "Emporium map" isn't supposed to be used for actual gameplay, so things are a tad different here. Tho I agree more modders should learn something about basic architecture that makes sure every class can have fun on a map. The basic "build 2-3 layers" and "build multiple entrances" rules of thumb are forgotten by many, many map builders.
i haven't even made an artpass map and what the fuck the look of a map is at the bottom of someones priority list?
Yes. this is why your maps aren't ingame you know, because they play like shit and a map with actual balance and a decent layout should be used.
i've said hundreds of times that the purpose of the maps i make is for looks and even though i've fucked that up its still not ingame and it never will be so i have the option of going to fix it better? [editline]15th December 2010[/editline] i feel like what that one guy said where i have to keep telling someone over and over about a fatal flaw in my map but they keep telling me to fix it
i've said hundreds of times that the purpose of the maps i make is for looks and even though i've fucked that up its still not ingame and it never will be so i have the option of going to fix it
so what makes you think you're qualified to comment on how to make maps? i could make a beautiful thirty foot high sculpture of my ass in Hammer but that doesn't mean i'm a mapper.
so what makes you think you're qualified to comment on how to make maps? i could make a beautiful thirty foot high sculpture of my ass in Hammer but that doesn't mean i'm a mapper.
wait what what are you even blathering on about now this went from a legitimate opinion to personal slander becuase you didn't get the opinion you wanted [editline]15th December 2010[/editline] i used to like you becuase of your the postal dude avatar but comon bro make your arguments at least cohesive
If not Earthworm Jim, I would personally enjoy having this boss from one of my very favorite games as a kid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6G7A5OtppEg Bodytype fits somewhat well with Pyro, and he's equipped with a flamethrower-type weapon :neckbeard:
If anything, I should be the one doing it.
let me spell this out for you: if you make maps for their ~looks~ then you are not a mapper. you are not able to comment on how "easy" mapping is because what you do is not mapping. shitting on a plate doesn't mean you're suddenly a chef.
let me spell this out for you: if you make maps for their ~looks~ then you are not a mapper. you are not able to comment on how "easy" mapping is because what you do is not mapping. shitting on a plate doesn't mean you're suddenly a chef.
He said it's easy to make good-looking maps but hard to make fun and balanced ones. Why are you even arguing when you have the same opinion? This is stupid.

Yeah this argument is kinda dumb, let's drop it. [sp]i just wanted an excuse to post 'shit on a plate'[/sp]
Yeah this argument is kinda dumb, let's drop it. [sp]i just wanted an excuse to post 'shit on a plate'[/sp]
i really dislike you now
If anything, I should be the one doing it.
Yes please :3: I'm satisfied with just the head, however if you're ever in the mood to do a full set... His croc tail could be added alongside with the head, so that it's always there when the head is visible. His flamethrower could replace both with the Flaregun and Flamethrower (the Flaregun resembles his firing method a bit). His backpack could replace the tie. (His backpack would be best not to be incorporated in the FLamethrower, because you don't want it to go away when changing weapons) [editline]15th December 2010[/editline] Rate me optimistic if you please :v:
How do they work? I guess its just a miracle
What do you mean exactly? Like how it's suppose to function?
The handle looks too modern, like a glock. Needs to look more like something from the 60s.
The handle is based of a Glock. I don't really know what other gun I could have based it on, especially from that time era. I wanted it to kind of look modern and sort of like a tazer gun to suite the electrical look and the Engineers ability to design new technology. I could have used a Colt Magnum design to suit the Engineers western decent but the Spy mainly uses revolver type weapons.
[img_thumb]http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/1162/magnetcolour.jpg[/img_thumb]
If somebody hasn't said it already but, wrangler. Wrangler would be a perfect thing for this to replace.
If somebody hasn't said it already but, wrangler. Wrangler would be a perfect thing for this to replace.
Well obviously :v: Since this would seem a rather unfitting replacement for the Shotgun and was probably intended to replace the Pistol, and since the Wrangler is the pistol replacement :3:
If somebody hasn't said it already but, wrangler. Wrangler would be a perfect thing for this to replace.
Would need either new animations or some sort of control stick in that case tho.
i really dislike you now
oh no!! to get back on topic, here's some concept art for a Solider weapon I thought up a while ago. basically a stripped-down shotgun taped to a stripped-down rocket launcher. it'd take up all the slots, left click would fire a rocket, right click would fire the shotgun and switching to melee would let you beat people to death with it. [editline]15th December 2010[/editline] if only we had a modeller who was famous for working with tape... dang... such a shame we don't have someone like that...
I could hack it together, I just couldn't do the tape. Or wires.
And what would be the downside of the weapon? Now it looks like you can use the shotgun without changing the weapon, thus going around the deploy time..
And what would be the downside of the weapon? Now it looks like you can use the shotgun without changing the weapon, thus going around the deploy time..
Slower movement speed? Because you equip 2 weapons at the same time.
