Divide it in two. Model viewer doubles it.
Oh... I see...
So, anybody have a hat suggestion for me to model? Don't care about simplicity or complexity.
You sure look like you know stuff, eh. :smug:
christ theres always an idiot who doesn't listen to the rules.
So, anybody have a hat suggestion for me to model? Don't care about simplicity or complexity.
Remove the Chest from the Bounty Hat and the Treasure Hat Instant :h: :buddy:
So, anybody have a hat suggestion for me to model? Don't care about simplicity or complexity.
I was gonna make this, but you're free to go ahead and give it a shot. Already been done
doesn't mean it can't be done better.
[img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13972822/Various/toodetailed.jpg[/img_thumb] That handle is far too detailed for TF2. Scrap that little grip texture you've got going on there. The rest of the model looks great though.
OK, I ditched the grip details. Would something like this work better instead to try and break up the modern look? The strip would be metal looking. Bare in mind that this is just a draft to illustrate the idea. Alright, this is my first serious weapon to work on. Without you guys, I would not even have started on this. I guess you could see it it as my entry into the Electrical Collab. Don't worry, I'm far from done! The reason ther Battery and the holder are the most detailed things is because that was my Exclude/Soft Edge experiment. Now, for a question (yet again): Should I use "Soft Edges" on the entire model, or just at certain parts that "need" roundening up?

And remember: Pyro has no facial expressions.
doesn't mean it can't be done better.
Touche. I've got an idea for a hat, how about a microwave for the pyro, it's on his head and his head goes through the bottom?
Hows this?
So, anybody have a hat suggestion for me to model? Don't care about simplicity or complexity.
Nurse cap for Medic. Or has this been done before?
Hows this? [img_thumb]http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/1860/pyrosock3.jpg[/img_thumb]
I think those leaves could use some work; they should look more like this:
Soft Edges (if it is what I think it is) should only be used on the rounded parts - leave abrupt edges like the end of a barrel un-soft.
soft edges is like chamfer, use it only when ABSOLUTELY necessary.
Finished texturing the Magnet Gun. I'm open to suggestions on the battery logo as it's shit and I can't think of anything better. It's called 'Nukacell' because it's a fission battery. I might just remove it altogether. Same for the tape over the contact. I might just give it a smooth rubbery look instead. [img_thumb]http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/8657/magnetfinal.jpg[/img_thumb] ...and here's a model viewer pose. It seems the c_pistol isn't used so I can't show any ingame action shots. It has no phong/rimlight shading yet so looks dark and out of place. I'm also going to add jiggle bones to the wires. [img_thumb]http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/7399/engimagnet.jpg[/img_thumb]
That's beautiful, both the model and the texture.
[img_thumb]http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/6856/isitgoodyet.png[/img_thumb] I'm not sure why, but I'm still not satisfied with the model. Is it better?
Make the wires go under the rings in the middle. Would make more sense and look better, in my opinion. Also instead of having the claws spin, you could have the rings spin in opposite directions when healing, if you want the model to be animated at all. Also the handles lack detail, but this is not much of a problem as they will be in the medic's giant hands most of the time.
Well, I want to keep the plugs on the wires. Where should I move them?
Soft Edges (if it is what I think it is) should only be used on the rounded parts - leave abrupt edges like the end of a barrel un-soft.
Thanks for the tip. Anyone who can help me with Texturing?
Thanks for the tip. Anyone who can help me with Texturing?
I may be able to help depending on what it is.
soft edges is like chamfer, use it only when ABSOLUTELY necessary.
... I have no idea what Chamfer is. Such is the disadvantage of using a different modelling package.
I may be able to help depending on what it is.
Well, everything, I guess :buddy: I've only modelled once before, but I never made a texture.
... I have no idea what Chamfer is. Such is the disadvantage of using a different modelling package.
It's Bevel.
Scout hasn't gotten much mods going on for him lately so I tried out some goggles on him. He kind of looks like a moron with them on. coincidentally, the bombing run is the only hat that clips with these
[img_thumb]http://picupload.org/i/35e99f073ec9.png[/img_thumb] Paint looks wonderful on it.
Pardon me if I missed something, but what exactly is different about this compared to the existing one? It looks great, but I can barely see any difference between it and the current mask.
More suggestions please. I already did the ones I think should have been done.
More suggestions please.
To be honest I think you have too many rings too close together. I'd remove or at the very least simplify the rings, particularly those toward the base of the fingers.
I personally think it looks fine. Any more and it'll be too detailed.
