I read most of this thread and I still don't understand crafting

this shit is way more complicated then it needs to be.

It's easy. You craft worthless items together, you get worthless scrap metal. You craft scrap metal together, you get some nicer metal. Craft those nice hunks of metal together and you have yourself some excellent metal. Now, craft those excellent metal pieces together with something else you've crafted with the same process and you get something excellent, usually.

I thought items that were equipped wouldn't show up in the inventory.

Wait a second... Does this mean that I can craft normal weapons?

The craft server is down for me....

I still think it's dumb to get rid of, say, a bunch of your scout weapons to get a scout class coin, so you can turn around and make one scout weapon. It doesn't make sense unless you get like 10 bonks and nothing else.

I don't know if I'm late on this, but crafting together four Cloak and Daggers gave me this: [MEDIA]http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/4439/tf2itemspda2.png[/MEDIA] My friend told me it isn't working for him, so what the hell? I checked the CTX and there are indeed slot tokens for unused slots like all the PDAs, buildables, grenades, etc. and for some reason all of them are set to use the bottle as their icon. Weird.
