Camera BEard doesn't go in the hat slot anymore, it's now a misc item so you can wear it with other hats

I originally combined my Ushanka and Dome Shine, which yielded a Brigade Helm. Then I combined the Brigade Helm with a Billycock which spat out a Tuque. Combined that Tuque and a Stainless Pot, which yielded a Ritzy Rick's Hair Fixative.

I just sent a question to Valve using steam support, asking to get my weapons back.
I lost all my weapons because of their dumbass mistake of including equipped items in the backpack and/or not indicating what is equipped.
Will crafting allow you to make different types of stocks weapons?
Let me see.. I need 112 items to get myself a class specific hat? When I get 112 items random dropped then I will probably also have the hat I wanted.

Crafting sucks, you can never craft something you want. Even if you get 112 weapons, you might build a duplicate. Ridiculous.

So I started with a soldier stash, a soldier pot, a demo fro, and a fancy fedora.
I combines the demo fro and the soldier stash, and got a medic mirror. I never play as medic, so I combines the medic mirror and the fedora.
I got a ye olde baker boy, a hat for the class I play the most.

Impractical and annoying, it'd use more effort to get the blueprints and make the items than randomly getting one in a game.

You people just dont like a little excitement where you might get amazing prizes or you might get fucked royal.
Calm down people, at least we got something to "work" towards now.
I sure as hell got more than 100 dupes before my first hat, and it's not like they removed the opportunity to still get a random hat as a drop. They merely implemented a way to use your dupes to work towards something you want so you don't have to throw them all out.
So wait, now that the Camera Beard is in misc. slot, can I still get it as a hat through crafting?
What happens if i craft 2 ghastly gibus?Will i get a random hat?
You can't use the Gibus, Halo, Bill's hat or Paper bag in hat crafting.

There is no way to craft the "Camera Beard" as you cant craft items in the "misc" slot

I think of crafting as a way of getting rid of all of your excess junk and getting something you can somewhat choose in return, not as a miraculous weapon and hat factory.

Fedora 1 and 2 go into the furnace "Boy I hope I get a medic ha- Octologyist Mirror FUCK YES" I then start wishing for a pyro hat as I put the mirror in the slot and the baseball bill sh- FUCK YES RESPECTLESS RUBBER GLOV- wait.
I then realized I just killed my mirror. Fuck
A way back when I said that a engineer unlock would be to use your backpack inventory to change the effect of your sentry. IE; a FAN could be consumed to give your LEVEL ONE sentry pushback. I said the downside would be losing an item, and not being able to upgrade your inventory. I tossed the idea out of the window when I remembered the BACKBURNER.
But now, with all this metal stuff, it sort of makes me think that the backpack will be heavily used for the engi and my idea might see the light of day.

I don't really see the problem with calling their crafting system out for being grindy and ultimately useless.
Yes we all know you like the rarity of hats, and I don't necessarily have a problem with the hat portion of it, but the main purpose here should be getting you the new items faster and you can't really do that.
Hurrah, crafting 2 of my 3 trophy belts got me a vintage tyrolean! :D
