Dunno, the game crashes for me after 1-30 mins of gameplay.
My computer's rotting away in the corner, collecting dust. I've yet to see how Helltower looks.
But I have a question, is there still a skull island? If so, what's at the end?
I expected Halloween limited items but both of the bird heads?
What the fuck man I wanted to get those and never take them off

if you are using custom first person animation mods, the weapon animations will fuck up.

Probably.
I keep crashing at random times. I removed every custom file I had and verified the files (no corrupted files), and it still crashes.
I'll just wait for the hotfix.

GG valve, you broke something unrelated to Halloween. Not that big of a surprise actually.
As a mapper, I'm happy to see tf_zombie_spawner and the Magic Spell pickup item seem to be easily usable in a custom map.
Can you imagine a Medieval Mode map with spells?
I got into a match, had 87 ping and the game was playing as if I had 999, stuttering, freezing and timing out

AFAIK that's only one server. I had that too, joined another server - everything's fine. But crashing.

The response rules system relies on small flags set on every player named "contexts" to decide which response is the most fitting one. My point is that those contexts don't have to be consistent between the client and the server, one of the most obvious examples being disguises. Now the situation you mentioned most likely comes from the fact that disguises only camouflages a player's "playerclass" context and do not bother with contexts granted by items.
It would be extremely easy to make a client convar which forces whichever context causes players to speak those unicorn voice lines to 0.
Although personally I couldn't care less about that unicorn hat. Would have been better without the blatant MLP references in the voicelines though.

I don't get how gifts are distributed. I hopped on a present and got a candle misc and then I see people getting hats and miscs left and right. How are they getting em if I got the magically appeared gift?

Gifts spawn for you and only for you. You're the only player who sees a notification when it spawns.
This also means you don't see gifts when they spawn for other players.
I bought a Magical Mercenary. Am I literally Hitler now?

You get untradeable and uncraftable version of (probably) every or atleast most hats added in this update.
I got Demo's Lordly Lapels and Soldier's Faux Manchu.
I am always grounded and never get to play a Halloween Event. I only got to play the one with the Horsemann and ever since been grounded always every time around Halloween. This year I am trying my hardest to stay outta trouble and got to play this event.
I always recall people fighting for the gifts and chasing each other. Probably youtube videos put that image in my head.
I honestly don't know what they bundled the items together like that. Hell, both the ones you get in gifts and buy from this bundle are untradeable and uncraftable.
Woo~ £250 for a bundle of items I can get for free by farming gifts and they've got the exact same restrictions as the free ones. Woo~

Gifts system was reworked, now gifts are not public, they drop individually for every player

In all fairness, and given also my sheer annoyance for MLP, I would gladly buy one, using it with some carefully placed misc items and a deceptive Steam nickname in order to troll people all day
