So which is in your opinion the best scout weapon?

So, remind me again as to why some people believe the shortstop is overpowered and not merely 'meh'?
career sniper, I can't handle the fan or scattergun, but do pretty ok with the shortstop
apparently I have better aim than I thought because I only hit with the shortstop
Yes, of course, by then why not use a Heavy or Soldier?
The Shortstop is a waste of a primary weapon. If you want an annoyance weapon, look no further than the incredible Pistol. It can snipe from afar with great accuracy and it shoots and reloads fast enough to keep the pressure on.
It also runs out of ammo after four clips and can't be used in conjunction with Bonk, Crit-a-Cola, or Mad Milk.
The Shortstop is a worse pistol than the Pistol and a worse shotgun than the Scattergun or FaN. What it excels at is versatility and persistent fire.
Scattergun.
Scattergun obviously.
Scattergun is in my opinion best, as it's all around good in most situations.
Then again I'm lousy at aiming so I like the Scattergun better than the FAN only because it has 4 shots before it needs reloading.
Not sure WHY I'm so terrible at hitting the enemies though, I'm godlike with the Flaregun.
Shortstop is okay. Scattergun is best. FaN is nothing.
I made some russian guy rage by being a vanilla scout (only bronze badge) and kicking his ass.
Even after he went heavy with a natasha he couldn`t do anything.

Killing a scattergun scout as sniper/spy is hard.
Killing a shortstop scout is fucking impossible.
I've taken a liking to Shortstop + Crit-a-Cola. At medium distance you also have a better chance at surviving, should you take mini-crits.

Pyro and Heavy also, since it's so accurate it can deal good damage at all ranges... Heavy's and Pyros relying on meeting the enemy close or in medium range makes Shortstop Scouts a real pain in the ass. Due to its accuracy and faster firing-rate, it's a lot better at corner heckling Heavies.

Pure sex.
Scattergun.
FaN and Shortstop can go eat a dick.
I like the Force a Nature, but the best weapon for me is the Sandman.
FAN because no-one was choosing it and it felt sad
I would vote Candy cane since it has a self-heal, but you didn't include it in the poll.
I voted on the Force-a-Nature because it gives you a knockback that you can use to get into hard to reach places. There's nothing better than getting to a sniper/engy's sentry camping place and bashing them to death with your melee weapon.
Scattergun. The shortstop is a close second.
Scattergun. I do the best with it.

I prefer the Scattergun when facing Heavies, being able to down them without having to reload at all is great.
Pyros aren't usually a problem to begin with but the Shortstop makes them a total joke.
I'd say it really depends on the loadout you're using. Stock is an allround decent loadout, survival-oriented scout (mad milk and candy cane; for maps with few medpacks and/or when lacking a medic) works best with the shortstop due to the lack of a pistol, the FaN works best with crit a cola, etc.
The scout has some interesting weapons and items available. The items, individually, are bullshit, but you can make some interesting sets with them to really make them shine.
Best thing imo is when I'm alone and see an incoming heavy medic pair. If I have mad milk and the scattergun equipped, I ignore the medic and go for the heavy. With any decent dodging, the hp healed from mad milk outnumbers the damage that the heavy manages to deal.
Scattergun. By far.

Scattergun. End of discussion.
Scattergun > Shortstop > FaN
Pistol
Force-A-Nature
Though I use the Scattergun too, but still FaN was the weapon I ever wanted, pretty much the opposite of Scattergun-shotgun, I utilize the triple-jump so much as well and it's just an awesome weapon imo
As for shortstop, hardly one round played with lame piece of shit. traded it for some crap and it sure was worth it, as i tossed it later on
Scattergun takes first. It's much more versatile than either of the others. The six shots before a reload is very useful, because with both the FaN and Shortstop you have to reload to kill a fully healthy heavy.
But truthfully, I can do well with any of them after adapting to them. Force-A-Nature is a close second because where most like it for the knockback or extra damage. I like the speed. I can bring down Snipers, Spies, Other Scouts, and Medics with two quick blasts from the FaN. It's also handy for getting into areas that are reachable by FaN jumping.
The Shortstop is third. It's a great weapon in conjunction with Crit-A-Cola and it's generally useful. But I never fully got the swing of it. I still use it though, and I feel I can do equal with any of these weapons.
For the people that brought up Mad Milk, it is arguably a very good and diverse weapon, but for me I play a lot of deathmatch, and using it on one group of players and surviving only to be caught by the next without a secondary really bites.
Forgot to mention, I use Luger/Fish, but they're reskins. Lately I actually have been using the bat a lto because it seems the fish has hit detection issues for me.
The only Scout unlock I use now is actually the Candy Cane. Despite being hideous, it is very useful when I fight against small groups of scouts, and with quickswitch enabled it's easy to change back to bat when an enemy switches to an explosive class.
Boston Basher I don't use simply because I hate missing and bleeding myself out. It doesn't seem bad at all if you can get a hit in and run when you're out of ammo, but I'm more concerned with getting +41 health upon kill over bleeding
scattergun is the best overall, although i use shortstop, scattergun is still the best fan is just annoying piece of crap....
People tend to understimate how fucking ridiculous a 150 hp scout is.
Don't get me wrong, the scattergun is awesome, but the extra 25 HP is really really important.
