Okay guys quick update on the campaign progress!
Right now I'm working in pretty tight engine limitations that don't allow me to do quite a few things - one of the major things is control over NPC weapons and the NPCs wearing hats etc.
HOWEVER - I could work past this if I started to use SourceMod - their community has found several workarounds for parenting objects to players without it messing up - so if I were to add Sourcemod to the campaign setup then I could probably start working through problems like this (and it could possibly make things more flexible down the line).
So I'm stuck at a crossroads - I can either not include SourceMod with the package and be limited on the NPC front (the upside being that the campaign mode would probably be limited to a .bsp and a .cfg) OR I could add SourceMod into the mix (this could increase the complexity/depth of the campaign BUT it could also create a much more annoying install).
So I come to you for your suggestions on what to do! Would you like a more complex and intricate TF2 campaign that would require a bit of file moving etc to get working or would you rather have a easy to set up but simple TF2 campaign? (I'd like to note that with enough work pretty much anything could be possible with SourceMod - a possible shop system/NPC grouping/new class? These features would require much more time to develop.)

This paragraph convinced me: sourcemod for sure. Hypothetically, could you do vehicles with sourcemod?
oh god this thread is just beautiful

I don't see why not but it'd require a crazy ammount of custom content to look half decent and even then I dunno if it'd fit TF2's style. If I was going to do some of the more ambitious stuff I'd need a good coder like Mecha to help me out, though he looks like he has his hands full. (If I remember correctly he was trying to get a single player game working but it never got anywhere).

Yeah, it wasn't a suggestion (vehicles would be terrible in TF2's small maps), I was just curious. But it would be cool if you did some more ambitious stuff; it would be disappointing if your excellent mapping went to waste.

I could also help at / do some writing
Should we ask Jesse to help you at coding?

Lyrics:
I'm in a mess, I can't take all this stress.
All the violence and death that I cause. I confess
I just want to burn it all.
Little ants running around all annoyed
when their toys are destroyed. All those tiny ant boys
I just want to burn them all.
I can't feel anything, I just taste oxygen,
and the fire's all I have to look forward to.
Just exit wounds and agony, asbestos and sepsis and atrophy and
Scar tissue.
I'd act my age if I knew what it was.
Now my face is in place, but who knows if it's changed?
I just want to burn it all.
And all of my friends are flammable men,
I would ask them if I thought that they'd understand
Why I burn it all.
I can't feel anything, I just taste rubber and oxygen,
and the warmth of the fire's all I have to look forward to.
The screams and the silence, then
after they're burned they get up again
And sometimes I forget my true friends
Don't even know that I'm human
With scar tissue.
(I'm in a mess, I can't take all this stress.
All the violence and death that I cause. I confess)
(And all of my friends are flammable men,
I would ask them if I thought that they'd understand
Why I burn it all, It all)
With my
Scar tissue.
Scar tissue.
Scar tissue.
La la la la la.
Where the hell do I get this "TF2 Campaign" that you guys made?
Sounds badass as shit.
You know, my least favourite part of the Sniper campaign is that one mandatory mini-game, where you have to wait ten real minutes for someone to show up. That really ruined the pacing for me. Anyone think they should make a mod to get around that part?

Lyrics:
I was taken in
By a red devil with a charming grin
and he and I were close as anything
But battles shake the ghosts from the carpeting
And what did I receive
for my loyalty to my beliefs?
Boots on my feet, banner in the air
shovel in my hand diggin' a hole to nowhere
And I will barricade myself inside my barracks, myself, me and I
And never have to look a traitor in the eye again
And after all this is a War, and what are enemy lines for
If not to separate the weaklings from the men?
Heros never die
'Long as the battle survives, we too must stay alive
I can't believe it ended with a lie
I'd like to talk to you about it if you've got the time
But there's no time to grieve
I must stay loyal to what I believe
And any part of me that dares to disagree
Will be buried deep beneath my pain and indignity
And I will barricade myself inside my barracks, myself, me and I
And never have to look a traitor in the eye again
And after all this is a War, and what are enemy lines for
If not to separate the bleeders from the men?
And if some day we were to make our Peace
I would not want your apologies
That's not the man I knew back then
Have faith, defend
I'll be there in the end
And I will run outside with my banner held high, streaming blue across the sky
And I'll shake your hand and look you in the eye my friend
But until then this is a war and what are enemy lines for
If not to separate you from your fellow man?
Whats with all the songs? Just give me a map and a story line. I need something to do
Whats with all the songs? Just give me a map and a story line. I need something to do
Soldiers campiagn needs something to do with fighting an enemy Demoman and vice versa.
Holy shit.
Guys, i was just wacking around with my Lv.7 Back Scratcher (Weak Flame Element Attachment Equipped) In dustbowls trenches on the pyro campaign, and, upon hitting one of the walls, my back scratcher ripped off some wallpaper? It took a few minutes, but i repeated what i did in the same central area, until i uncovered a sliding door with a keypad next to it. Now, i'm not too keen with the campaigns as of yet, but is this a secret anyone else has found? I tried using the keypad, but it simply gave me the DENIED text, and then asked for either a Keycard or the password.
Whats with all the songs? Just give me a map and a story line. I need something to do
I don't have a map, but I have an idea. For the Demoman, have him as a even more drunk, depressed person waiting to die in alleys after the WAR with the BLU Soldier. The BLU Soldier is killed, and the Demoman goes out to find his killer. I don't know, something like that, as long as it has the Demoman drunk.

That got me thinking about an ending.
Demo and soldier, they escape the range of the respawn machine that keeps them alive for a final battle. Just their fists. They stand there in the mud, overcast skies and scars from previous encounters. Then they go to each other, with full force and strength in each punch. They keep fighting. Then, demo finally collapses onto soldier. Soldier catches him, but he's also weak from the fight, so he just lets him fall off of him onto the ground.
They stare. Soldier, barely able to stand, and demo, barely able to live any longer. Finally, a warm breath escapes demo's lips as he says; "Just end it, mate. There's nothin' ye can do for me now."
The soldier reaches into his back pocket, pulls out his service 1911. He inches it towards demo. With tears in his eyes, soldier cocks the pistol and aims it at demo's head. Demo sighs, and closes his eyes.
Bang.
Then credits.
