Guys, I need some help on this boss fight. I posted about it on SPUF but couldn't get any definitive tips. When you are fighting the Shadow Scout in Negative World I am having a hard time beating him. Since I'm playing on Manly Mann mode, I get taken out in two hits from his gun/melee weapon. It doesn't help either that all my weapons were taken away before the fight except the scattergun. I haven't but any buffs or modifiers since if you beat Manly Mann difficulty without them you get a hat, gun, and two extra chapters. Does anyone know any good tactics for this boss?
Now THAT is taking the bullshit a bit too far.
Now THAT is taking the bullshit a bit too far.
you think that's tough? try beating hale mode using ONLY the knife, no disguises, no revolver, no sapper. only the knife. it lets you CHOOSE the knife, but it's still pretty freakin' insane. like LASO in halo reach, or three heart, no sword legend of zelda.
Guys, holy shit. Valve is opening a silent beta for a new Campaign, and I, by some luck, got in. I don't even think more then Twenty other people are in, my god. It's called, for those interested, [sp]The Purple Ashes.[/sp] I'm playing through it, holy shit. It's about what happened after [sp]Red and Blue launched the missles in the last campaign, The War has Just Begun, and it cut to the credits, remember? Apparently, you wake up as the BLU Pyro, to a room heavily filled with ash, and there's fire Everywhere.[/sp] I'd love to tell you more, but I HAVE to get back to it. I'll post more later. Edit: SHIT, The spoiler tags. Sorry for anyone who read it. Edit2: Fucked it up twice, sorryyyy
Nigga they'll remove your beta slot if you talk about it. I learned that the hard way.
Oh well fuck, I guess I have to snip it then :v: Which sucks, because I was about to make a pretty large post about it. In retrospect it should've been obvious, but bleh.
Uh, guys, help? [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8974580/TF2/FP%20Campaign%201.png[/img_thumb] I was trying to [sp]do the Medic mission where I'm supposed to rescue the ally Spy from the evil Hat Baron Heavy[/sp] and all of a sudden, during the cutscene, the [sp]Baron[/sp] ended up freezing in this sort of reference pose and his [sp]counterfeit HOUWAR[/sp] was duplicated all over the floor, as were his [sp]lackey Spies[/sp]. The HUD also started to bug out, as pictured. After all this, I got the usual "hl2.exe has stopped working" message. My FPS also went down to extremely low levels, as shown. Any idea how to fix this?

The cinematic won't show up, and you'll have to deactivate the command after the screen whites out after you get to the HOUWAR room. While this works pretty good, you won't be able to see the cinematic until it is fixed or someone uploads it on youtube. BTW, if I were you I wouldn't take the window path.
[sp]There is no TF2 campaign. There is one being made but in this thread, the campaign does exist. We share what we think the campaign should be like by acting like it actually DOES exist.[/sp]
What are you talking about? You're just not looking hard enough. Can anybody help me with the 9th spy mission where you're in the opera? Friendly fire is on for some reason and I can't just go around trying to backstab my own teammates. I can't really seem to find the spy among my teammates. Along with that, I can only walk through a few people. I have this feeling that 90 percent of the people at this opera are actually red spies.
Apparently the Pyro's flamethrower doesn't deal damage to friendly people so try finding the pyro
No way to access it? you guys seem able too....let me guess, it's a closed beta thing.

Along with that, I can only walk through a few people. I have this feeling that 90 percent of the people at this opera are actually red spies.
This is not a guessing game, man. You're gonna have a hard time winning this if you're going to the lounge with your very knife. First off you'll need a "your eternal reward". Now the tricky part is, you have to find your first victim without being seen. You only get one dispenser teleported to you in this mission so don't use it right before arriving at the door to the opera. When you're there, order the dispenser to be teleported in a bush (for discretion) and climb up the wall next to the door. Now instead of entering the court, you're gonna jump down the wall with your dead ringer on and stand next to the dispenser, camping until the waiter comes. Now there are many a waiter in this area. But you'll notice the red spy among them because his made man will not be blue. When you see him, backstab him. You'll get a disguise and the other waiters won't mind you killing a red spy. Now you don't have to kill any of the spies in the opera, but be aware that all spies not killed there might show up after the "meeting" cinematic (What I did is I went through the opera not minding any of the spies and had to wait for them in the water closet for them during the meeting;I spent 10 minutes in the toilets killing spies and I didn't even clear the doves in the opera, so that's not a wise choice, gameplay-wise and unlock-wise) Be aware that you'll have to keep some health for the fight against moverick mann's handymen and they're a pain in the ass to kill. Since killing all the spies will not get you a unique hat, think about how much spies you want to kill in the opera and during the meeting beforehand.

- Bah, troll thread I take it. How.. pathetic.
- Bah, troll thread I take it. How.. pathetic.
I don't see how this is a troll trade. I haven't seen a troll here in a long while.
I don't see how this is a troll trade. I haven't seen a troll here in a long while.
It sure looks like it since apparently there is no campaign. I can not find any download link for it or anything. So I have my doubts this is real since if it indeed was, there would be a lot more fuss about it.
It's a closed beta for the most part, I can't remember how you apply, I did it so long ago.
That explains things a bit at least.
That explains things a bit at least.
You should ask political gamer, he has the links to the beta download. Though I think he's a bit busy at the moment.
They really upped the texture clarity in the Sniper Campaign: [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2246763/camping%20fun%20all%20year%20round.jpg[/t] Look how clear that is.

That is some unoptimised stuff right here. If I can remember, this is the mission where you have to shoot a lot of heavies, which takes a shitload of ram, right? Dibs on my comp.

Did anyone catch the "Meet the Pyro" easter egg in the new Heavy campaign? If you go near the fence in Yukon, you can see a RED Pyro sitting on a box reading a magazine. A camera is pointed at him/her and there are people eating at a table behind the camera. It seems that Valve is saying they are taking a break from shooting Meet the Pyro.
damn, this looks awesome just wish I could've been in the closed beta, and if this is a troll atempt I admit to being trolled [editline]23rd October 2011[/editline] btw I just found and joined a steam group for this is that all right it? was public
Oh man, has anyone else found that Half-Life 2 reference in Well yet? I couldn't believe it when I saw it.
Oh man, has anyone else found that Half-Life 2 reference in Well yet? I couldn't believe it when I saw it.
Oh, you mean the [sp]scale model of the Borealis in Spy's office?[/sp] That was awesome.
Well that's just dandy: I spend 3-4 hours replaying one of the campaigns, and I manage to get the worst possible grade. [thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/totallylegitwin1.png[/thumb]
Pyro Campaign is out any minute!
