Ben looks like one of those nerds I shut in lockers and steal lunch money from
Which Ben?
Haha, I'm 14. Turning 15 in early june, I should really get working on some concepts and get modelling so I can be the second youngest kinda real contributor ...unless there's anyone else younger than me. in that case, I guess I shouldn't start talking too soon :v:
Jeez Ben Henry looks like a child compared to most of the other contributors
Isn't henry the one who just hexxed the fancy fedora and called it a heavy hat?
Isn't henry the one who just hexxed the fancy fedora and called it a heavy hat?
he remade it from scratch and apologized

So is Ronin the one on the bottom left?
these were all so amazing. would a second round of these types of interviews be possible? theres a lot of other people id like to know more about.
It is likely.
ChemicalAlia looks like a porcelain doll.
I really want to 3D model, but I don't even know where to start. These interviews just make me even more disappointed that I'm too dumb to self-teach
I really want to 3D model, but I don't even know where to start. These interviews just make me even more disappointed that I'm too dumb to self-teach
we all start somewhere. try helljumper's tuts.
I really want to 3D model, but I don't even know where to start. Then watch some tutorials for fun (such as helljumpers) and if you understand the basics you can just model as you want think of it as drawing on a 3D plane i'm a terrible drawer and that's why my models are terrible
ChemicalAlia looks like a porcelain doll.
That picture of her was taken using an infrared camera, here is the non-ghost version [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3797350/hosting/2014-03/2014-03-24_00-23-52.png[/t]
“Full sets don’t seem to be the way TF2 is going these days, and I haven’t seen much in the way of community-made weapons being added, either. I’ve noticed a shift more towards promotional items and holiday-themed cosmetics, and the seasonal stuff doesn’t really hold my interest.”
That's a very diplomatic way of putting it.
Good article. It's interesting seeing how so many people put money earned from something springing from a hobby to uses like paying off student loans, hospital bills etc, it's touching to think that money spent on keys and cosmetics can affect a real person in such a huge way. Also seeing a face put to these names that I just regarded as online entities that had no physical body was weird, as well.

So 3Dnj and me are living in the same city. Interesing.
great job with this, interesting read! a surprise bonus day with svdl would be the icing on the cake
i want a bio on the dark one. every time he posts in the emporium i want to know what's going on inside his head.
Why the hell do you have a picture of her saved?
I don't, there's this website called Facebook, dunno if you've heard of it? :p [editline]24th March 2014[/editline]
I really want to 3D model, but I don't even know where to start. These interviews just make me even more disappointed that I'm too dumb to self-teach
If you're using 3ds Max, the built-in help / tutorials are actually pretty good (!) A good place to start is to try modeling very simple objects sitting around you to try to get used to the tools
great job with this, interesting read! a surprise bonus day with svdl would be the icing on the cake
Svdl, Daimao, Mr Royzo, and Rob Laro are among those who declined an interview for one reason or another. It's not going to happen, and please don't bother them about it.

Wasn't meet your makers a Dota 2 pro team?
Wasn't meet your makers a Dota 2 pro team?
It's also a common phrase and idiom before an e-sports team.
I really want to 3D model, but I don't even know where to start. These interviews just make me even more disappointed that I'm too dumb to self-teach
I feel exactly the same way about not being able to self-teach coding. I did figure out modeling though! You just need to get the basics of the program's functions down (such as adding more vertices, extruding et similia) and you are good to go!
I'm surprised we didn't get an interview on my fellow comrade Nano. [sp]sidenote: those who i though were female were actually male and vice versa. welp[/sp]
Just wanted to come in here and thank Void on his own territory for all the work he put in to this project. I think it turned out pretty well and it definitely was a pleasure working with him.
I'm surprised we didn't get an interview on my fellow comrade Nano.
There are tens, if not hundreds of TF2 content creators. Some have gone on to do other things and don't give interviews anymore, others never got the chance to say 'no' cos we (and by 'we' I mean Void - it really was his project) didn't ask. We'd like to give the MeetYourMakers format another attempt some time in the future so maybe then you'll get to hear from those you were hoping for this time. There's also a hope that some of those who said no this time round will feel differently now that Void's interviews are up and they can see for themselves what to expect. Lastly, it's a bit out of date (April 2011) but we did get an interview with LaroLaro back when he was still fresh from making TF2 models.
TF2 blog posted about this!
The word "hero" gets thrown around a lot these days. Mostly by cowards who've never killed a man for no reason. But if you're a distinguished war veteran like me, you know that only three types of people deserve to be called "hero": men who dive on top of live grenades, men with the cahones to throw a live grenade, and the hard working men and women on the assembly line building live grenades. That is it. End of story. No exceptions. Having said that, if you're a distinguished war veteran like me, you also know how the chain of command works. So when some pencilneck down at TF2 HQ tells you to write a blog post adding someone to the Hero List, you do it! So listen up, because the hundreds of 3D modelers, texture artists, concept artists and other creative types who submit to the Workshop each and every day are the greatest generation of heroes, and Kritzkast is honoring them. These are just some of the many people who've made Team Fortress 2 what it is today, and by God, they deserve your respect until we are told otherwise.

TF2 blog posted about this!
hummina hummina hummina
Damn interesting interviews! Reading about all these determined and skillful people makes me wish I'd accomplished anything decent, TF2-modeling-wise. Also, I can't explain why, but Neo being transgender makes me think she's even cooler than I already thought. As does the fact that she kinda resembles Alice Glass.
