He obviously changed his class to Demoman _after_ he did those kills.
He's not holding the Eyelander either.
Spetterpoep.
I'm currently LOVIN' the new mini Warrior class.:black101:
scottish resistance is useless [editline]10:50PM[/editline] i also find it almost impossible to hit anyone with the shield charge

Ignore the jpg compression, I don't know why I saved it as a jpg.
The only problem is that I can't find a goddamn Frostmourne model for Eyelander. I wish they'd kept with making soldier more defensive. [editline]07:56PM[/editline] And the funny part of the above post is that I just got off a server discussing how warcraft achievements are crap.

It's not balanced at all, what are you smoking? :v:
It's balanced, problem is that the majority of people haven't learned how to deal with it and instead react with something along the lines of "OHSHITGLOWINGEYEMANCOMINGTOWARDSMEARJHGHGHGHGHH---". I do agree with OP though, over time the Eyelander & Targe will become more or less obsolete, only effective in those very rare situations in which case it's wiser to have your original weapons.
new sticky launcher is useless. It requires you to be always looking at the doors which isn't fun. I also find the other one better for defense, because you can hang around in your territory and assault anyone who attacks, while the new stickies are just "PLEASE WALK INTO MY STICKIES"

I haven't had a chance to properly use the SR (I don't like how it's referred to as the Sco Res, it just sounds bad in my head), but it seems pretty nifty. The only problem is that the detonations are a bit hard to control because your cone of sight can trigger multiple, separate groups. Currently, there are too many targe-wielding Demomen for me to use it right. (SR stickies definitely need to be able to be seen through walls and other surfaces. Also, the mechanism for triggering their detonation should be tweaked. Rather than have a large cone-shaped field that selects the groups of stickies, it should be a narrow one that selects one or two stickies and then any others within a short distance of them. Just scale back the width of the cone.)
35 heads, 5 dominations. It's not balanced at all, what are you smoking? :v:
Seriously, the Eyelander-Targe combo is indomitable. With only having used it once before, I managed to get a kill-streak of 51 with 30 decapitations and 5 dominations... and the only thing that ended it was an unlucky backstab. The rest of the kills were with the grenade launcher, which is pretty handy for spamming areas you cannot reach with melee or falling back on. As much as I'd like to say that this is only a temporary thing due to people being unsure how to counter it or confused due to the update, there are a lot of times when losing your head is pretty much unavoidable... especially against a buffed Demoman
Once all the soldier rocket/sticky bomb spam is reduced, i'll go back to playing as heavy and the demomen with Targes will just be free kills for me, more or less. The biggest threat to a heavy is a decent spy, a sniper, or a class with long range explosives. anything else is an easy kill for a good heavy.

Dear god so much hate towards the new updates, the SR is fine, L2 use it, its a defense wep what do you expect and you can change over too the original one if you want. The eyelander/targe setup isn't "required" to play effectively, I can assure you kills can be easily achieved with the bottle and targe combo aswell, there is also a choice, eyelander cannot crit which means after you charge you are left swinging away at people until your death or until you leave the immediate battle, I personally prefer the targe and bottle combo, though I normally play on the original layout with stickies and bottle. TL;DR everything is balanced, the people playing on servers with 8 people saying how they raped everyone into the ground doesn't show anything, people arn't used to new weps, prepare for the waves of qq like in every update, I still cry about the FAN and sandman update.
Facepunch server was full of Demo warriors last night, unsuprisingly topping the leaderboards. I love the the sword and shield, but i agree that they're out of place and OP.
What they REALLY need to do is put the 6-grenade limit back on the normal launcher. I mean really, it still has 6 cylinders.
It'll just take time. People will understand that the Demolander's weakness is bullets, and only the skilled will continue to do well. The blast reduction is really allowing Demolanders to do well right now, with everyone else playing Demoman and Soldier. The update will die down and people will go back to their normal classes. Where the fuck is the Meet The Video? They haven't done Pyro or Medic yet. Why the hell didn't they do one?
Gabe ate the servers before they could finish uploading it.
I've meleed eyelanders to death dozens of times. Stop whining.
Covering all of the Demoman weapons: The Sticky Launcher: 8 Stickies, Detonates them all at once, short prime delay. The Sticky Launcher is an OFFENSIVE weapon. It's made for taking out sentry nests and killing enemies using Airburst stickies. It has a poor, but still possible, defensive ability since all stickies must be detonated at once, so you can't place them in many various areas due to the limit of 8 stickies. Since these are an arced projectile, it can be fired from behind cover, keeping you out of harms way. The Scottish Resistance: 14 stickies, Aim-cone detonation, longer prime delay. The Scottish Resistance is a DEFENSIVE weapon. With the ability to place 14 stickies along with Aim-cone detonation, it excels at defense. The stickies DO NOT need to be visible to detonate them. You can aim at them through walls, and as long as they are in a about 30 degree cone (if someone has an exact number, please say so) around your crosshair, they will detonate, no matter your location or what may obstruct your view. With 14 stickies, you can cover up to 4 areas with at least 3 stickies, leaving 2 to spare for whatever other use you may find for them. 3 stickies will kill most classes easily. The offensive ability of the S.R is very poor. Due to the increased prime delay, hitting a target is unlikely, since they can simply move away from it before it primes. The ability to take down a sentry nest is still possible, but also a challenge if facing a smarter engineer. With the extended prime delay, the engineer can shoot the stickies before they prime. The Pipebomb Launcher: An amazing weapon, but ignored by most Demomen due to the greater offensive ability of the sticky launcher. The Pipebomb Launcher has no damage fall-off. Firing them at someone at any distance will always produce the same amount of damage. They can be spammed at a door, while remaining at a safe distance, dealing a great amount of damage to enemies. With the pipebombs curve after launcher, you can safely hide behind a wall, while shooting over it at a sentry nest or a group of enemies, keeping you out of harms way. Even if an engineer is repairing the sentry, 4 pipebombs will kill it, the drawback being that there are only 4 shots before you will need to reload. While it proves most proficient at offense, it has fair defensive ability when being shot from behind cover. The Chargin' Targe: An offensive weapon. The Chargin' Targe will negate most damage from fire and explosives. It WILL NOT negate bullet damage. This means bullets and melee will still kick your ass. With the charge ability, it will allow you to close in on a target quickly, limiting the amount of damage you will take, whether it be bullets or explosives/fire. You WILL NOT stand a chance against a Heavy that knows how to aim/predict movement decently. The charge ability can be used at any point, making it very useful, whether it be running from an enemy, or trying to secure an objective. When combine with the Eyelander, your short range ability (both offensively and defensively) will be devastating. If any weapon is used at the end of the charge, it WILL be a critical shot, this can be useful with ALL weapons. The Eyelander: A mostly offensive weapon. The Eyelander, while reducing your health by 25, can be just about made up with 1 kill. With each kill, the speed will be increased by a multiplier of your kill count (max of 4) using the Eyelander. With each kill, your health will be increased by 15, and your movement speed will be increased (unsure of the exact amount of change). At 4 kills, you will move at a high speed, while having a max health of 210. The defensive ability of the Eyelander is almost none, however it is useful in getting your 4 kills to receive the health and speed boost. When used along with the Chargin' Targe, your short range ability (both offensively and defensively) will be devastating. The Bottle: It's a melee weapon. Not much to say about it. It does more damage than The Eyelander. When used with the Chargin' Targe, your critical hits will deal a massive amount of damage. The weapons all have different roles. You cant expect the Sticky Launcher and the S.R to be just as good as one another, when they are weapons designed for OPPOSITE ROLES. From what I've seen, all of the weapons in this update are FINE. None of them are overpowered, none are underpowered. (although I think the Direct Hit could use a SMALL increase in radius, I also fear the small increase would make it become overpowered) Use DIFFERENT weapons DIFFERENTLY. Don't expect 2 weapons to function the same. Find new ways to use weapons, and don't complain just because you don't like the way a weapon is supposed to be used.
If I were to oh say, reskin the texture over stickies in your SR cone to $ignorez... Would anyone think that's cheating? :P
I would like it better if the Demo got dynamite instead of the Targe. although being able to charge is useful when you need to get the intelligence back to your base.
At least Demo got better stuff then scout and heavy.
