Medics win games.
Is your team losing? Tell people to go Medic. You'll win a few minutes later.
Hahahaha, like anybody in this game listens. You're gonna have to go Medic yourself.
Or say: "Whoever goes Medic and makes us win 3 times in a row gets a free hat."
Don't give them the hat and say: "You winning us the game is more gratifying than any pixel hoisted atop your head."
They'll either rage, if they are playing the game for the wrong reasons, or comply with you and realize that Medic is a vital part to every team.
i hate playing medic
Anything that valve pumps out for the soldier is OP'd
Not the Pain Train, the original Soldier and Demo update items, or the Frying Pan. Everything else? Probably.
What the medic could use, is The Fists of Steel.
that would be absolutely ridiculous.

Quick! To the Beta!
*whirling logo*
Anyways, we all know valve wants the medic to be the weakest class of the game, cause the team is supposed to help the medic, and the medic supports the team.
The problem is that the team just don't care about the medic!
medic needs a something to make the team care about him more...or atleast a weapon to escape as I said. :v:
Valve set out to make a team game, and then humans got to it. The rest is history.
Gamemode where players constantly takes small amounts of damage, requiring a Medic to survive?
V:v:V
I hardly ever play Medic, but I'm sure most of the Medics are happy when they give me ubercharge because I will always squeeze the most out of it
In my last game on Badwater Basin, i just killed 6 people in one ubercharge as Heavy with a kritzkreig Medic. Good times.
He was on fire, I threw him a Sandvich, we all had fun. Medics make the game that much more exciting.
I wish there was a new weapon to spice him up, all the new ones are merely "interesting" not "OH MY GOD I NEED TO PLAY MEDIC RIGHT NOW"
I myself cant really comment on the current state of normal 12v12 pubs as I rarely deviate from 6v6 lobby games anymore and have abandoned most pub playing long ago.
In my opinion, Medic is Absolutely essential and completely irreplaceable if you want to even consider victory in a 6v6 5cp setting.
When playing 6v6 with 1 medic per team you have a 1:6 Medic:Player ratio, this dramatically increases his effectiveness, the medigun heals at a base rate of 20 health per second, and heals even more if you have been out of combat for extended periods of time but are still damaged.
But im not gonna write a post on that so lets move on to regular 12v12 Attack/Defend, 5cp or Payload
First off Mad Milk is overpowerd, lets compare Mad Milk to Jarate
Sniper benefits your team with a ~33% damage boost and vision distortion on the target, however it is often difficult for the sniper to follow through with this.
The Scout on the other hand gets 75% lifesteal, and in theory dousing the enemy Heavy/Medic combo with your Mad Milk can heal faster then a medic, to anyone willing to take a few potshots at them. In addition to this the scout is a much more suited to run in, drop down Mad Milk for your team and then run away, a sniper trying to do that just gets juggled by a Rocket Launcher.
Playing medic in a pub setting is very unattractive to the average player, Medic is my second played class, about 10% of that was in pub games and the other 90% was lobby games.
People don't want to play medic because of the lack of Soldiers/Demos/Heavies to pocket, I remember countless situations were I was pocketing a Scout or an Engineer because everyone was playing Pyro/Spy
On a further note playing any Payload map it is easier to carry your team as a Demoman or Engineer then it is a medic, all in all its just not a very popular role, take any other game, any MMO particularly.
how many people do you see who are playing a character focused around damage.
Now how many are playing a Priest?
It is becoming more and more often now that a medic is seen as a walking Ubercharge as opposed to arguably the most powerful class in the game.
But what happens when someone gets dominated by a Kritzed Demoman who just killed every member of his team singlehandedly? Does he switch to medic?
No, he goes Demoman.
But thats just my view on why Medic is underplayed, dealing with retarded teammates, being the #1 target in every situation and being completely helpless if your team is just too bad. And also being blamed if anything goes wrong.

It's not a fault of the class that people are too stupid to realize that Medic is the most valuable player on the team.

Medic does not need any more survivability, giving him more will just make bad Medics die less and good Medics nigh unkillable. If you've got a decent team and know what you're doing you'll rarely die as it is.
no one uses black box though
everyone and their dog uses black box, unfortunately

It's technically the least used. BUT the amount of owners who equip is higher than direct hit. So I guess it can be interpreted either way?
I'm going to reset my stats and play 30 hours of nothing but medic. Even when alone against 12 enemy players.
Medic does not need any more survivability, giving him more will just make bad Medics die less and good Medics nigh unkillable. If you've got a decent team and know what you're doing you'll rarely die as it is.
I know that, and I've said multiple times in this threat that he should remain as he is, a weak and valuable target, but I wouldn't mind seeing a melee weapon that brought something new to the table, something that mixed up gameplay for both public and 6v6 play. Obviously the weapon itself would have downsides that would attempt to balance out the changes it makes.
I dislike medic because I prefer to play Scout/Soldier more
So when I ask my team to go medic for me and the team, what do they do? They all go spy and hope to win
enjoy getting reported for scamming
So awful a scammer he didn't even need to open up a trade window!
As much as I love playing Medic, I find it very long to heal people. Not too much of a problem when healing 1 person, but when 4 people are running away from a kritz uber with low hp, it takes to much time to heal them all that some even prefer going back to battle without getting healed. In that case I'd use the amputator but then I'd die from a crit-rocket's splash damage.
Yesterday there was a guy yelling that we need more medics.
...he was one of 5 snipers...

Isn't it illegal to have 5 of the same class?
Isn't it illegal to have 5 of the same class?
If you want to subscribe to the theory that "only one of each class" then Highlander is the only way to go
Otherwise, it's a plugin, and not TF2 itself
I die too fucking quickly as a medic, even when I'm surrounded by my whole fucking team. I move around a whole lot, in fact I never stand still, yet get insta-gibbed by SOMETHING.
These new medic weapons don't help. At all.

His new weapons are a primary that is a complete alternative rather than anything specifically more useful for survival, and something exactly the same as his default only it heals on taunt.
Not much of a change tbh
the spy is pretty hard to play too now. the role of the spy is to take out enemies while remaining undetected, to it isnt meant to be good at face to face combat, but with so many anti-spy weapons and MOTHERFUCKING PYROS its hard as hell

Valve really needs to realize that the medic is basically wet-tissue paper in terms of survivability and give him something.

Medic survivability tips:
Map awareness, don't just stare at your patient, watch your flank.
Don't stand still, you're sniper/spy bait.
Don't follow that suicidal pyro into battle. Leave him and heal someone else.
Valve really needs to realize that the medic is basically wet-tissue paper in terms of survivability and give him something.
No, they shouldn't, as Medic most definitely has enough survivability as it is
If you keep dieing then it's because you and your team mates are doing something wrong, not because Medic is too weak
Medic is still my favorite to play.
