• Should hats of been put into the game?

I personally like how hats add to the visual variety in the game. A lot of people have hats now, at least on the servers I play on, so it adds a slight touch of uniqueness instead of every member of each class looking exactly the same.
They're just hats. Doesn't break anything. Just something to look forward to. It also makes you feel a little more unique when you have a hat that no one else does.
I kinda miss the days when the classes' looks weren't ruined by hats
I always look at how they perform before I decide who to uber. Although I would never waste an uber on anyone with MW2 color tags in his name.
Hats = good The way they were implemented = bad
Agreed.
it'd be awesome if everyone had every hat. With the amount of hats right now everyone could wear whatever they want. Also fuck everything I love Max's severed head.
Tears run from my eyes when I see a Scout wearing a Gibus. Sure I can understand Demo or Heavy... But a Scout wearing a gibus? Whatever happened to a little something called "Theme"?
I only ever wore the Gibus on the Pyro, even when I didn't have hats. A worn down top hat fits him.
I don't see how hats matter either way. I'll wear them, but I don't play TF2 for hats. I play it for cartoony violence, with dialogue that makes me chuckle. Basically, I won't miss them if they were taken away.
That's a big goddamn checkmark. Well I like the Gibus on one class and one class only (Pyro), that's why I plan on replacing the OTHER classes' Gibus with skins.
well i quite like the gibus on the demoman too, mainly cause it's like a broken scotsman's stovepipe
I personally deleted my gibus, as I wanted to see if I could earn it back. I can't. But I do agree that hats sometimes ruins the game. sometimes! other times hats make the game funnier. One time, a guy crafted his refined and got the hatless sniper. Many lulz were had. Td;lr- I do not think hats ruin the game.
There hats, that's all they are. THEY DON'T CHANGE THE GAMEPLAY, THEY'RE JUST DECORATION: THEY ARE JUST..... HATS!
wear the gibus when I play pyro to annoy people. and anyone who uses the word scrub, ever, is an absolute idiot
Team Fortress 2 is a war-themed hat simulator. So of course there should be hats in the game!
I wish hats never would've been implanted to the game. Sure, they're cool and all but it makes it all so... I don't know.
Team Fortress 2 is a war-themed hat simulator. So of course there should be hats in the game!
Sorry for going off topic, but its not war-themed, its team-based cartoon violence
imo, it's not the hats that are the problem, but the random drop system. Before, i used to believe hats are worthless. but as soon as i got my first hat i felt so happy. What made hats so bad is you keep wanting more.
Yes they should have been added. The screw-up was making them rare. Why should the cosmetic items be rare? They should have been just as common as weapons.
Hats are a good way of showing that either you have taken the time to craft most of your weapons to make this headgear or are a very lucky person to have found one. For that, people often look up to you and Medics tend to steer towards those with hats, because it shows that they have accomplished something. Been playing the game for 2-and-a-half years, and I've never been blessed with a hat. The only class I wear the Gibus on is the Heavy, so long, Medics.
Jeez, when I play Medic, I watch health, not hats. I love hats, they add a personal flavor and excitement all around when someone gets a nice one. I can't deny the fact that they do cause some awful elitism, I love them and I'm happy to have them in the game. Like many others have said, the Medics that refused to heal the hatless Heavy are obviously douchebags and shouldn't bother playing Medic (At least in my harshest opinion) if they think camping someone with a hat is going to earn them points for anything.

Where the hell do you find those high-quality icons :colbert:
Elitism works both ways. You've got, "HURP DURP POOR AND IRISH" and the "DURP HURP HAT ELISTIST FAGGOTS." I personally don't take part in the elitism/anti-elitism. I like the hats, though. It helps individuality between characters, I just hope they get more customization into this. More cosmetic items alongside the weapon updates (if they keep doing them.) Cosmetics don't hurt unless you're an idiot.
Halo + Earbuds means lots of people rage.
My friend is really good and has a hat so the medics only heal him. They never heal me
Brainslug and earbuds looks realy wierd
Hats should definitely have been put in the game. I doubt I'd still be playing if there were no hats.

hats should have been added because it shows that... 1. you were lucky enough to have a hat drop or... 2. you had the patience to craft a hat yourself. I am at one refined metal and like one scrap metal in my 50 hours of playing and they make you stand out from the crowd, which i like. [editline]03:34PM[/editline]
Halo + Earbuds means lots of people rage.
ah yes, but you can only equip one or the other... not both....
ah yes, but you can only equip one or the other... not both....
Halo is hat, Earbuds are misc, so you are wrong.
That can fall under my description as well.
Don't use hats and miscs because I like "vanilla" classes (and yes I have other hats than the gibus)
I can't say I care much for hats really. I just love my few combo hats I got right now. Engie Combo: Safe'n'Sound and Earbuds Sniper RAGEEEE Combo: Cheater's Lament, Earbuds and Razorback for ultimate pissing people off.
