You mean "never use anything but the Degreaser"?
I'm seeing a lot Backburners too. Not sure of the original flamethrowers though
You mean "never use anything but the Degreaser"?
No, what? Degreaser has terrible fire damage. I use normal flamethrower.
No, what? Degreaser has terrible fire damage. I use normal flamethrower.
I agree with the fire damage part, but I prefer the Backburner. I can't reflect rockets worth shit.
I agree with the fire damage part, but I prefer the Backburner. I can't reflect rockets worth shit.
I prefer the back burner too. The extra damage may not seem like much, but it is VERY helpful. The crits to the back are just a bonus.
No, what? Degreaser has terrible fire damage. I use normal flamethrower.
Why do people still think this? It's the AFTERBURN that's weaker. A good pyro shouldn't rely on the afterburn anyway nowdays
Why do people still think this? It's the AFTERBURN that's weaker. A good pyro shouldn't rely on the afterburn anyway nowdays
One of the menu tips is, "Pyros can often light enemies on fire and retreat, leaving the enemy to die from the burning."
One of the menu tips is, "Pyros can often light enemies on fire and retreat, leaving the enemy to die from the burning."
Theres way too many ways in the game to get rid of fire. Jarate, Milk, Sandviches, Compression Blast, Medic, Medkit, Water, Black Box. And I probably forgot a few ones.
Well, that's true. But even the afterburn can make a bit of difference even during the face-to-face battle. If I recall correctly, normal flamethrower afterburn does 3 or 4 damage, I believe. While Degreaser's does 2. [editline]4th January 2011[/editline] But now I'm wishing Valve would.. degrease its general damage lower so it will balance all 3 flamethrowers out.

Well the range of my guess was still accurate I suppose. But not every situation is fit for shooting down a fleeing enemy and not everyone uses shotgun. Afterburn is still useful because there isn't always a source of replenishment.
One of the menu tips is, "Pyros can often light enemies on fire and retreat, leaving the enemy to die from the burning."
If you actually kill someone with after burn these days, it's probably because of luck or because the team doesn't have a Medic (or he's stuck in respawn or something). I think the Degreaser is still used a lot because it's relatively new, like with the Blackbox. I've spent some time with the Blackbox before I realized the Rocketlauncher often is the better choice for me. I'm not that sure about the Degreaser yet. By the way, anyone else noticed TF2 has a lot of melee weapons (Spy aside)? Scout has 5, Pyro has 5, Demoman has 6 +pan and +halloween blade, Heavy has 5, even Medic and Engie have 4 (GW not counted). I suppose that's one of the reasons for Medieval mode, but that's confusing the artstyle even more for me, no idea what the time period for models from the community should be now.
I love the Degreaser. When I play Pyro, I constantly change between the shotgun and the flamethrower, depending on the distance of the enemy. Quick switch is madly useful.
Shotgun is best weapon.
[img_thumb]http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/5599/cratesi.png[/img_thumb]
I don't find anything really wrong with crates. The only crate exclusive items are unusuals, and key openers aren't gueranteed rare items. The only way I can see people being bothered by it is if they feel a sudden urge to spend $2.50 every time they get a crate drop.
are you forgetting about all the they're getting?
Holy shit. Killing Floor makes sense. FINALLY
Just added my opinions.
I was going to bother writing my opinion on this, but then I saw
Crossbow is fine to the Medic's personality
And now the tremendous force unleashed upon my face as my palm smashed into it has left me with an earth-shattering headache. The FoS do not need a slow player value, that's pretty much the whole reason you should wear them, to run away from combat when low on health and still make it out alive.
We're at 4490 fill-outs. Also, Robin will get the results via me and the user CHH4. More likely the latter though.
Shotgun is best weapon.
Nu-uh, the shovel is!
We're at 4490 fill-outs. Also, Robin will get the results via me and the user CHH4. More likely the latter though.
So you decided to wait instead of giving us the results even though the latter won in your little poll? I don't mind personally because I wanted to wait but I don't know why you asked us. I say wait until at least 5000 if possible, it's a nice number.
I didn't write it in the message to valve box, but I thought: Remember when the game felt like the meet-the-team videos? If I was new to it and watched the videos to get an idea of what the game is about, I would be fucking confused when I started playing.
didn't know what to put in the username field so i just put /id/kinglahfuckincrab
I was going to bother writing my opinion on this, but then I saw And now the tremendous force unleashed upon my face as my palm smashed into it has left me with an earth-shattering headache.
Tell me how it doesn't fit the Medic's personality?
Tell me how it doesn't fit the Medic's personality?
Tell us how you think it fits his personality first. :colbert:
Tell me how it doesn't fit the Medic's personality?
It's a fucking medieval weapon for a highly sophisticated Doctor who's personality is both based on the stereotype of professional German doctors as well as the gestapo. It has nothing to do with his german heritage, it has nothing to do with the 60's, it has nothing to do with the stereotype of doctors, it has nothing to do with Medic's frustrated nature, it has extremely little to do with his sadistic nature. [editline]5th January 2011[/editline] Please answer Lordgeorge's question before mine, because I have absolutely no fucking clue what so ever what would ever make you think it even fits Medic's personality slightly.
Tell us how you think it fits his personality first. :colbert:
So, first of all, the crossbow fires what looks like some sort of needle (judging from his reload animation). Needles = doctor. The crossbow fits the Teutonic Knight medieval bollocks that they've attributed to the Medic in the new update. It's decorated all red and white, fits the whole "Medic" thing. But that's just me and I'm going to be attacked with a box by Simski, I just know it.
But that's just me and I'm going to be attacked with a box by Simski, I just know it.
Yes you are, you are the very definition of this rating.
You're the dumb one, calling people dumb because they don't share your opinion on some TF2 items. A medigun doesn't have anything to do with Germany either, guess it doesn't fit. :| Now Samiam made some fair points and you didn't answer any of them. Instead you just go on about how "dumb" his opinion is, while he didn't do that. Don't be so immature about it.
You're the dumb one, calling people dumb because they don't share your opinion on some TF2 items. A medigun doesn't have anything to do with nazis and Germany either, guess it doesn't fit. :|
It's retrofuturistic advanced technology, the kind of thing you'd see the scientists use in a 60's spy movie. You know, the kind of theme TF2 used to be based on before it added retarded knight stuff.
Well since they added the sword and shield to the Demoman long ago it shouldn't really matter anymore whether a crossbow "fits" the time period or not in the first place. Plus, even if it doesn't fit with regular game modes it fits with the medieval one. Valve did say that the Polycount pack would be tied to the new game mode.
