Does anyone else feel a little sad on the inside when they see the Gunslinger?

He has a robot hand now, he should be shooting guns faster and make them deal more damage. (needs buff)
Its not half as bad as the heavy's missing hands glitch
Oh wait it is half as bad

I think it's Fine as is
Here we go: My take on the story:
Engie had a normal hand before, just wore a glove anyway.
Engie took blueprints and made the hand, severed his own.
Now he just takes the glove that he would use anyway and puts it on when not using his mechanical hand specifically.

No matter what, it's still badass.
One of the most unique, effective, and game changing weapons to date. The If you equip the Gunslinger, the new shotgun, and the pistol, you are effectively a new breed of Engineer and you will play the class completely different. I'll put this next to the Demo's sword and board in how this effectively creates a new type of class. For offensive Engie the game is completely different.

It reduces the need to turtle on defense too - the sentry can be locating where your team is established and you can either snipe or go in the fray; it doesn't matter.
Gunslinger reminds me of one of the gloves from Ratchet and Clank

In my opinion, You're not supposed to turtle at all with the gunslinger. You're supposed to run in, ninja a sentry up, and get out, then attack when they are distracted. Because of the crit boost of the new shotgun, the new sentry's weakness can be it's own strength.
It's effectively a completely new style of play.
It's freakin cool, i can go all "rawr i'm pirate" with it and start ninja-punching pyros.
and then there's that awesome blender kill taunt.
I'm happy, because FINALLY MY FIST IS MADE OF STEEL!
It is a little bid sad because the Engie, who seems to be the sanest of the characters, was willing to compromise his own humanity [sp](and future masturbation)[/sp] over an endless, pointless battle.
But then you see the taunt and it's not sad.

Just put the glove back on.
No glove, no love.

Funny you should say that. There was a glove in R&C2 that did the same thing as the Gunslinger: deployed sentry guns.
And there were always undertones of Mad Science with the Engie. The blueprints just brought that to the fore.
I consider myself a sane human being and I'd cut my own hand off for a kickass robot replacement that dropped sentry guns
I do. How could the person in the comic (http://www.teamfortress.com/loosecanon) do THAT? I mean, just look at that guy! When he smiles, it fucking rains puppies and the world becomes a better place and then... then THAT??????
The taunt is awesome.
When I saw that picture of the Engie I immediately thought of

But Iron Man didn't cut off his hand, right?

No, but Bruce Campbell did. :D

Yes but the engineer doesn't have a chainsaw for his hand now does he?
Then again he does have that gauntlet in Army of Darkness.
Full metal Mechanist anyone?

qft.
I think it's pretty saddening. I felt really bad for Radigan, as you can see how the Australium mutated him as you look through the hidden pictures.

Robot Hand
I got a goddamn boner when I saw it
It's not masturbation it's gay!
I actually agree with the OP, Engi seemed like one of the normal characters. A humble Texan who broke the stereotype and became a genius. He just seems like a kind, gentle man who has a love for building things. Then suddenly he finds the need to sever off his arm to replace it with a robot hand, which is acting completely out of character for the Engineer it feels. I no longer get that "Aww, he's just a sweetheart" feeling from him, now I see him as some weird psychopath with a mechanical hand.
-we need is snipspenser here!-

It has always seemed to me like he loved mechanical things more than living ones. The way he says "sentry down" is heart-breaking.
No, I think it looks fucking awesome.
What is the Gunslinger?
I don't like the mini sentries at all, so i won't be using it.
The only reason I felt a little sad inside is that the taunt kill, rather than it just being another huntsman or ubersaw taunt kill that also deals about thirty 1 point of damage hits, why didn't it latch onto a enemy and make them do 360 spins as he spun it, and make them gib when he pulls the claw back.

I like the mini senties. Combined with the Wrangler they are like some sort of illegal children's toy only sold in 4 different states of the US of A.
