even if i do play comp tf2, i know for a fact that cookye does hack, or at least people have already proven it's set up.

Cookye surely is cheating.
If he was hacking we'd have banned him a long time, and as someone who's had access to files not open to the public until recently (his PoV demos, for instance) I can assure you he isn't hacking. Added to that, @ the remark about his LAN performance, LAN performance doesn't mean shit. Boomeh (ex-TCM, top Div1) played just as well online as he did at lan and he admitted to hacking. Just because their LAN performance isn't the same as their online performance doesn't mean they hack.
Going by the fact the other admins unbanned him with no proof he doesn't cheat, I would say you admin a fairly shitty server myself OP. Usually when a admin that has been around for a while bans someone there is no need to question that action. Plus it does sound like he has something going on, have you tried sitting in spectator and waiting for him to join instead of going spec while he is connected? You'll probably catch him out that way. And stop with the fucking competitive talk you muppets. Nobody gives a shit.
And stop with the fucking competitive talk you muppets. Nobody gives a shit.
Given that we talk about it, evidently we do. The thousands of comp players do. Valve does. I don't ask you to like competitive but don't jump on the comp flame bandwagon just because you don't like it.

Okay you don't need to be discussing which of the "omg soo pr0Zzzz ^__^" is cheating or not. This is talking about spotting someone who is cheating in a public match (and doing a shit job of covering it up). The only reason you got onto this topic is because a generic competitive elitist decided to bring up how competitive players are somehow better than everyone in public games.
Getting on the waggon with BuffaloBill, Cookye had a great performance on Lan and granted the win for Power Gaming sometime ago. He deffo doesn't cheat thats for sure. As for the map not being rendered, depends a bit, depends on the map usually. As for playing only 4-5 Maps, it's quite sad, even i as a competitive player hate it, would love to play some koth (Viaduct <3) and different 5CP maps. Banning him without a real proof might be a way to get rid of a possible hacker, but i don't know, never been a admin on any public server so i wouldn't know the reaction for other possible users of the server. Is he a regular on the server ? If you use SourceMod on your server that are some nice plugins to solve those kinda issues, but am not sure if you really want to use them cause the more plugins a server has, the more breaks it might get, less fps (Server wise), so all in all, the quality might go down. Edit: Quick look through SM forums shows me that the plugins are quite well coded so you might want to use them afterall :D

I came here to offer my help, if he wants it. When talking about cheating you're also talking about the possibility that he's simply good. When that came up, someone mentioned tracking through walls, and from that someone linked several examples of people doing exactly that. Call it elitism all you want, simple fact is that the average competitive player is better than the average non-competitive player.
Boomeh
He's a really nice guy
With people even doing castings of Competitive where 300+ people watch i don't get worse at all. When you practice everyday with your team atleast 1-2 hours you get used to it. If you want to watch someone great under pressure see JH, Darn or Shintaz.
This is not Starcraft.
This is not Starcraft.
Some of the top Euro games get 2000+ people on SourceTV/Streams
Some of the top Euro games get 2000+ people on SourceTV/Streams
Because they are top :downs:
Don't really want to continue the Competitive talk but NOD even Low Euro games get atleast 20-30 people watching minimum. And in the past there has been quite a few Casts for low division teams. 8U vs Versus for example. Even Highlander has Casts nowadays :D Highlander Casts are awesome by the way but none of them has been succefull enough for me, you need more than 2 people to cast 18 guys/gals playing.
Some of the posts here just show why there is animosity towards competitive gaming. Just as the others say, record several demos of this guy and review with wireframe if you suspect wallhack. Good luck on your case
Also am just going to leave this here. Haunter from TCM (great friend of mine) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHmaldAYOKs - Believable Cookye from Power Gaming - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcB85aX1pqY&feature=related (Anyone that isn't on Competitive will say that he cheats) - Prediction aimbot, no human can track like that. Fragga from FakkelBrigade - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6CjYpoOqDE&feature=related - Believable
Get out. [editline].[/editline] I'd like to also point out that video which I flagged as aimbot, is not Cookye, it's an impersonator. Cookye's style is a lot different and you can tell he's not hacking. You clearly know fucking nothing.
Oh come on.. Have you ever heard of something called "Skill" ? It's quite easy to snipe on pub servers, specially for competitive players like me and thousands of others. For any doubt just record a Source TV on the server and check it yourself while Wireframed. I get 1st place on almost all servers that i play and it would be quite sad if i got banned from most of them for suscipious of "Hacking" lol.
It was you, wasn't it?

You can't even beat div 5 teams, you guys are shit. Also you're a medic for the team so you will be probably awful at scout, sniper demo or soli.
if you kill a spy and the notice pops up that he died but then you get backstabbed by him 5 seconds later, he's cheating you should report him
I've played TF2 more than most of you, and I gotta say I can't remember the last time I came across a cheater.. Or maybe I just out-skill the cheaters, I don't know.

Hey guys lets look at how good Vaskie is: He plays for Team ARA, dropped and failing his division If you have read his posts you would have realized he has played competitively. What he didn't tell you was that he played in div 5 and that has was a medic. He can't do any of these '720' shots that he claims he can do. I bet some of you guys are better at TF2 then this guy.

Next Six Please is comprised solely of ex-Div2/1/premier players yet did badly in Division 3. Lacking teamplay, unexpected issues etc can all contribute to a terrible season. Class preference doesn't say much either. Taimou mains Medic, yet if he were to switch to a DM class he'd be Div3/2 easily. Hell, he can outsnipe most 'career' Snipers.
Div 3 requires more teamwork and game sense then div5. You can win matches in div 5 when your game sense isn't that good but your aim is.
Should I try to describe my response or MSpaint it And no it's not a reaction image, it's a way to catch him
LOL, i am a medic on my team, nothing to do with it. We had loads of problems with our roster on ETF2L, we won division 5 on WirePlay and are going Division 4. Also i get offered to play all the time with div 1-2 teams :) Also for the person that said i probably don't know half the prem players lol.. Actually i do since Haunter is a big big friend of mine, i used to be on TCM mumble all the time hearing their calls and watching their games, plus playing pickups and pcws all the time helps.
Div 3 requires more teamwork and game sense then div5. Hell I jumped straight from Div6 to Div2 just because someone gave me a chance, and regularly merc for Div2/1 teams. Demo in my previous team can easily play Div2, wouldn't be surprised to see him in Div1 in Season 9 either. Team results are no guarantee of individual skill regardless of Div.

But people like them deserve it, I can't help to think that vaskie's ego overrates himself quite a bit.

They are there, but for every player who is that there's a TON of players who aren't so the few gems don't get a chance. Paroxysm would probably have gone prem right away if they had Spary, btw. ;) Who are you on etf2l?
Take it back to the S9 thread :) I love how the thread derailed to Competitive gaming
Take it back to the S9 thread :) I love how the thread derailed to Competitive gaming
Well it was pretty much answered after the first page, so yeah. And hey, as long as it stays civil and the topic at hand has been answered, does it matter that much? :)
