Two things: 1. This game is free, so this hat likely will become rampant and hated. 2. I wear the gibus on 8 classes; it's my only hat. However, I swap it out with different hats (headphones, fez, Duke Nukem hair, rasta cap, Stalin hair, trucker cap, overseas cap, baggy green, satelhat) so I think of it as nine different hats, rather than one hated generic one.

I wear the Gibus on a couple of classes because I think it makes them look funny. But now that I know it pisses a lot of people off or makes them think I'm a noob I'm putting it on all my classes. Even the ones I have hats for. Slow, daunting, evil grin.

Man, I can't download Alien Swarm. It says that Steam servers are too busy...they've been busy for about 30 minutes...:/ But on the Gibus Debate, I wear it cause, no matter what anyone says it is a hat and I am proud I have it. Except on Sniper, cause it messes up his taunt.

I dont wear the Gibus, it makes you look retarded and makes you a big goofy target for snipers, as you stand out in a hatless crowd. Rare hats were so much cooler, most of the players could retain Valve's original design and occasionally you'd see a hat. Hat's used to be so exciting when they were rare, you would spec people with hats just because you knew you wouldn't see that particular hat again for a while.

Live and let live people, Gibus isn't as ugly as you all say and Stove Pipe is still boss. You can't "ruin" a hat by releasing a crummier version, you only make it subtler. Subtlety is cool.
