I have honestly never heard a comp player complain about civilians.
I doubt anyone would show up to a PuG and then do the civilian glitch.
When a comp player plays in a pub, he doesn't expect serious play. If he does, he deserves every bit of rage he gets.
That said, why don't you hop on some more bandwagons while you're bashing competitive players.

Anyway, I have no idea how you connected the civilian glitch and all the rage associated to competitive players, that's all I'm saying. If they enjoy making games their living, and manage to do it, good on them.
If they start taking it that seriously when they're playing with normal people, yeah, they're idiots.

I've actually only ran into a couple of people who play competitively I can stand to be around. for example in CoD4, most of the competitive players ALWAYS blame the public player for their death. Lord over how good they are being useless and not completing objectives and so on. In TF2 competitive players in public matches tend to just rage at the team for not doing objectives when they themselves aren't, and if anyone starts trying to do something fun instead of a boring mundane deathmatch (i.e. civilian), they go even more insane.
But yeah, you are mostly right in that if they do take games too seriously, then they have issues.

I crashed trying to become civilian.
Every time a single civilian bug is fixed, another one appears.

i just got the gunboats and first thing i did was go civ
every time i try this bug i crash just at the point where the buff would wear off.
Would be nice if anyone knew what my issue was but as it's a glitch I'm not sure how people can help.

That's why Valve should remove this glitch. It's maybe "funny" but it also makes some people crash.
