"The TF2 team will be regularly selecting top-rated taunts in the Workshop to be sold in the Mann Co. Store."
Considering Valve's track record on shit like this I'll bet that "regularly" will end up translating to something like "once every three months or so."
Update's hardly major. We got a feature we should have gotten ages ago and a bunch of updates to a game mode nobody cares about.
Welp
I thought it would be a major update, please don't confuse taunt and major together.

He listed it as major because of it's huge ass update size.
I mean this is all nice and all but I'm still waiting on dem Asteroid artpasses
I just want some eye candy
Also is Steam down or is it just me
pretty odd time to do some "maintenance"

So an update with a huge download size that consists of new content and bug fixes isn't major?
He listed it as major because of it's huge ass update size.
the size is because of the pointless sound file format change
60% of it are mannpower tiny changes

People thought it was Engineer vs Spy.

new cosmetics is hardly major.

I still don't understand why everybody hates MannPower. Yes it was hastily put together, but it's a hell of a lot of fun fighting a balanced team.

The problem is that a balanced team is few and far between, especially on both sides.

mannpower as a game mode is almost entirely based around bullshitting, it's like a quick server mod gamemode where everyone begs the admin to switch to it but after five minutes everyone's like "okay we're done put it back on payload"

What does "revolving" mean? Is this like the stockpile crates or something?
This is one of the best crates we've had in a while, though. Candy cane, buff banner, kritzkrieg, and wrangler woo!
Sucks that only the bison is a strangifier, though.

I'm really curious as to their flopsy-turvy decisions of what should be stranfigiers and what should be strange. Like, the bacon grease was released because the frying pan was listed as being a promo, meanwhile they just recently released a strange awper hand right out of the box even though it falls into the same category. It's even a promo for a Valve game!
- Grappling Hook changes
- Added hook jump- hit the jump key while being pulled-in to detach and jump extra distance (jump velocity convar "tf_grapplinghook_jump_up_speed")
- Added support for hooking into enemy players
- Hooked victims will bleed for 2 health per second
- Reduced max firing distance to 4000 units (convar "tf_grapplinghook_max_distance")
- Increased hook re-fire delay from 0.2 seconds to 0.5 seconds
- Re-enabled fall damage for the grappling hook (convar "tf_grapplinghook_prevent_fall_damage")
Added Revenge temporary powerup
- Activates and spawns when a significant game imbalance is detected
- Temporarily grants crits, increased fire rate and increased clip size
Honestly I don't think this is going to fix imbalances, but it's a step in the right direction. The hook delay, hook bleed and fall damage changes might slightly help, but it's not severe enough. Not being able to hook incredibly far away might help a bit too, but now that you can jump for extra distance good grapple players are still not going to have a hard time escaping. Knockout is going to be pretty hard to drop a flag with, especially with shitty melee hit detection and ziplining Scouts, but as a regular powerup to kill other players it might be fun.
I feel like one of the only players that loves the concept of Mannpower, so I guess I'm glad there's a new map and some changes, but I hope they keep working on it.

maybe they're going to make the crates like the ones in cs:go
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njklmfWvs9U
- Added new powerup: Knockout
- Restricts the carrier to Melee and Grappling Hook only
- Max health increased by 150
- Immune to airblast and damage pushback
- Melee weapon always crits and forcibly shoves the victim away
- Melee hit forces the victim to drop their powerup or the flag if they have it
- 4X melee damage to buildings
Oh man, Muscle Wizard Heavy is now my go to in Mannpower.

Revolving is just what Valve calls crate lists. It has nothing to do with Stockpile crates, the CSGO uncrating (which I'm pretty sure are the same but with a different UI) or anything like that. Especially considering this is a Munitions Crate. Valve would most likely add a new type of crate if they were going to do something like the Stockpile crates again.
anything with custom sounds is now completely broken, that gunslinger "fix" no one asked for, and a promise that we all known they will not fullfill.
meh update.
Nonamesleft and Sparkwire are going to earn a mint and I am so excited for them.
Who made the Killer Solo though? I've been looking around and I can't seem to find the creator. Would it be McVee or have the tf2 team inserted their own taunt?

holy shit I completely forgot how much of a joke the prices in the store are. like, wow. seeing them all lined up like this is just a big sign that says "this is the problem."
ten dollars. ten dollars for the scout taunt. you could buy a whole video game for the price of admission for this cosmetic that should cost as much as a gumball.
why are they different prices, too? they're all completely different prices based entirely on nothing. it costs nothing for valve to import these animations, they just set the prices based on which ones they thought people would want more.
there's literally no reason for these taunts to cost more than a dollar and valve is charging ten.
because they know they can ask anything for them, and people is dumb enough to pay that much. seems like an effort to keep item prices even over time and i'm rather happy for it to be that way, because otherwise, these would plummet in less than a month.
Probably testing the waters to see how the pricing increments effect sales.
The headless economist rides the halls of Valve once more.

i'm sure that keeping prices even over time is good if you're a person that plays the economy but it would honest to god be in valves interest to just make everything in the shop cheaper with flat prices for item types instead of the arbitrary and absurd prices they use already
setting absurd prices for digital goods because they know idiots will pay whatever number they say is something that I would expect from Activision or EA, not Valve. but for some reason it's okay when valve does it.

My custom shotgun sounds work fine.
Did you delete all your caches and do snd_restart?
On another note I do get an error related to "null.wav" every time someone dies. Anyone know what's wrong?

canadian price
When I saw 'MAJOR update' in the thread title, I was kinda expecting more than a few taunts, a crate, and Mannpower. To be honest though, I guess it's sorta major by todays standards.
That breakdance taunt looks rad though, definitely looking out for that.
i imagine a price of 2-3 dollars tops would end them with significantly more store purchases
I hope this means Heavy will get a nice unique taunt soonish. I feel so neglected :(

If im not mistaken, their economist is now working for the Greek Government, and theyre Hiring people for Microeconomics, so they're probably really clueless atm on what to sell what for.
