The scam trades megathread.

Just traded a Dueling Minigame for a Vintage Demo Fro and Orto-Ortya-... Medic's Mirror. I could have gotten a Camera Beard and Alien Swarm hat for it on top of those, but the guy clearly didn't know what the thing I traded him was. He was probably twelve with the mental capacity of a 3-year-old, I have three reasons to believe this.

One: He was named "Annoying Orange 666" (or something) and had an Annoying Orange avatar.

Two: I asked him for "Medic Mirror+Demo Fro" (so I could pretend I wanted to type / instead of + if he refused). He did it, no questions asked.

Three: He immediately used the item. On me. On a 24/7 IDLE server. That's right, the minigame that ends only when the round ends was used on a map that never, ever ends.

Anyone know the best kind of servers to trade off one of these damn crates? There seem to be people dumb enough to trade hats for crates, but I can't find them. 24/7 2fort servers and Idle servers seemed like the best bets, but I still haven't gotten any good offers.

Not my scam but someone offered in chat to trade a polycraft weapon for a hat. I of course immediately requested trade with him and made the deal.
In the last second before the trade would've sealed he several times tried to swap the pickelhaube to jarate. I figured he was trying to ninja-edit the offer and accused him of it.
He of course denied it and told me his brother had told him not to give the hat. He then filled the offer box with unlocks and after I explained how many unlocks a polycraft weapon is he begged me to accept the trade and promised to give the rest later.
I explained that I had no reason to trust him, cancelled the trade and told others on the server what happened. They agreed that he was an obvious scammer and all proceeded to express their hate towards him.
That of course got sympathy for me and that is good for business. :mmmsmug:
